Eventually zombies would lose because of lack of intelligence.

Incinerating them with flame throwers and napalm would be quite effective.

Just blow them up in one big go.

Keeping them from breaking out of initial infection zone is key.

Last resort is to lock yourself inside an impregnable fortress.

Many provisions or self sustaining agriculture needed to avoid starvation in long run.

Never leave the fortress without a gun.

Or a flamethrower.
