I saw something about that about hollowed and not being orginol. I saw something about the 10 highest boxoffice movies for ever year form like 1970 to today or something and how in like 2012 or something 8 of the top 10 where ether sequals or reboots.

I don't mean to seem like hater but the whole "MCU is 100% fresh and has never been done before" isn't true.

The idea of shared continuity on the big screen has been done many times before, all the way back to the 1930's with Universals Monster Franchises. You could Marvel has done it best but nothing in Hollywood now is original.

I think people are just mentioning this careful planning setting up multiple storylines and films, you could say that their strategy of constantly teasing what's going to happen is very similar to the old serials too.

Well I agree there. Marvel are excellent at planning. That's not to say Marvel have not 100% got ahead of themselves with the shared universe set up. Half of Phase 1 and Thor 2 have been criticised for this.

In terms of ASM2 I only got the world building vibe in the last five minuites.

I think that Phase I had the problem of the films after 2008 feeling pretty much the same and mostly being set up for Avengers, but in Phase II they are offering a bigger variety, and each film is feeling like its oun thing.

I also agree with this.

Back on topic, if the box office disappoints then Marvel are just a call away from an avengers team up.

I think that'd benefit sony more than Marvel, why do marvel need a spidey collab?

Yeah I really wonder if sony will make some changes if the movie makes less then the first one and if any thing looks like it is going to make less in the USA even if the world wide told isn't lower.

If they get spider man in the avengers the movie might make 3 billion instead of the 1.6 I think the first avengers made lol

Wasn't there some guy from Sony management saying the only way they would collab with Marvel is if Spidey is the main focus because Spidey is more important than the Avengers. Probably, yes man talk but I don't think that leaves much to negotiate with.

Spidey does better with his own stories. Maybe a cameo here and there but I don't think he should be the focus of an Avengers team-up. We'll see what leverage Sony has when the box office begins to play out over the next few weeks.

Yea but Marvel would love Spidey in their universe.

So how would it work in your vision? Sony owning the main movies with occasional MCU easter eggs and ocassional spidey cameos in MCU movies? Or just this one Avengers team up?

First option. Spidey works best alone.

Sony doesn't deserves dime of Avengers money.

I don't need Spidey to be in an Avengers movie per se, but I certainly wouldn't complain, and I'd be first in line to see it.

Maybe Spidey in an ensemble of superheroes would respark some interest from the general audience? A movie with Spidey, Cap, and Iron Man together? The GA would lose their minds (in the best way).

Do you not like the idea of Spidey in the Avengers?

Not if it turns into Spidey And the Avengers. I don't think he should be the singular focus. He doesn't need to be the Wolverine of the franchise. I want my Avengers movies to be how they interact with each other, not how they react to Spider-man.

If Marvel allowed him to be in TA3, it could be just the thing to make Sony's franchise interesting to the GA again, as long as Sony put out a really good movie. If they could make it happen, they could delay TASM3 until after TA3, as that'll work to take away the sting of this movie somewhat.

Won't happen though

Speaking of Wolvie, he is more suited to be in an Avengers movie than Spidey. Spidey is a more natural fit in Fantastic Four. Peter and Johnny Storm have great chemistry in the comics. Whereas Spidey in the Avengers is seen more as a bonus member, not really clicking with anyone.

I feel like the X-men would completely overpower all of the other Marvel characters so I'm glad we won't see them in a film together.

Oh, how has the OW gone for the US? Higher or lower than TASM?

TASM came out on a Tuesday while TASM 2 came out on a Friday (really Thursday at 7pm) so it's pretty much impossible to compare opening weekends.

That sucks! Is the film looking at breaking even at the moment or is it not doing too great BO wise either

Wait. What? Like overpower the Avengers in popularity...or overpower in a movie. Because the only X-man I think would give the Avengers trouble is Magneto.

Anyway that will never happen. Bad blood between Marvel and Fox due to a TV show Marvel had called Mutant X. Fox sued Marvel and Marvel sued Fox. The only thing Marvel wants is their property back.

Plus, you know, they already have Ironman to do that:whatever:

Seriously though, Spidey being in the Avengers is a good idea as Garfields Spidey deserves to be in a better movie than its currently getting, but its mute point as will probably never happen but it make sense for Sony to do it, but judging by this franchise Im not sure how much "sense" they actually have.

It's doing perfectly fine. It's just not doing what is expected of a movie with so much money thrown at it, or what's expected of a Spiderman sequel. We'll have to wait until next week to make any bets on where it may end up, in all fairness.

I always thought Spidey would overshadow everyone else (maybe even Iron Man) if he ever showed up in The Avengers movies, I'd love to see that though.
