Having had hopes for TASM to be the Spidey movie we've been waiting for, I have much less hopes for this one even knowing the fact that it's even more likely to be THE spidey film

Indeed. I really thought that TASM would've had no unnecessary cheese like Sam Raimi, but they didn't quite learn their lesson yet. Also, even when there was considerably less cheese, the little there was stuck out even more due to the overall tone

I'm kind of interested... judging by what Jamie Foxx revealed on the MTV interview, what do you guys think of the Electro story so far (not necessarily how he comes to be, but really why he has such a grudge against Spider-Man, how he gets his powers, etc.)?

...if they don't carry through with the realistic swinging that they started with the first movie and change to the "classic" swinging (without explanation beyond "Omg, peter got so much better at swinging!") I will loose a lot of respect for this trilogy... -_-

The realism makes swinging a lot more interesting for me.

Why does that need an explanation?? Really??? I for one don't want to see Spidey's abilities watered down in the sequel. I will lose a lot of respect for this trilogy if they stick to the b-rate swinging just because "well we did it in the first one, we'll have to do it again". It's ok for the first movie, but Spidey needs to become a pro in the sequel

Marc did a great job on the progression from loner Peter who wasn´t confident with himself to a more secure Peter who is confortable with himself he can show the progression from the swinging of ASM to ASM2

I don't like it when things defy physics that much. I don't want to see Spidey moving down the city in a straight line and doing flips and ****, I want to see him running on the sides of buildings that the webs draw him near to, I want to see him slipping through alley ways, flipping around + off poles, using more of a parkour-swinging style.

I found TASM's final swing to be superior to SM1's and SM2's in swinging style, and I don't want them to move back to the old style. Especially since they sort of made a statement saying "Hey! Our swinging is going to be more realistic!" when they had the nerds talking about it in that one scene.

in the final swing it look smooth because he instantly goes to a close space to swing and it´s easier for him to jump but in open places , how is he going to swing smoothly without the cranes, idk maybe he finds a way in the sequel

I'm sure we'll be seeing a decent mix of two swinging styles in this movie, personally what I want to see more of is New York itself and Spidey actually swinging around it. Honestly, aside from the brief skyline shots we got, the setting in TASM could have been any random city.

The whole movie taking place at night didn't really help either.

I admit the slinging in ASM was much more fun to watch, and looked tons better than the Raimi films it just felt so real to me and how I had always imagined it would look in real life.

To get around in open areas he can run along the walls, jump off the building to the building on the other side of the street and keep running.

Now... as for an explanation for more classic styled swinging: new webshooters can shoot their webs farther, so thus it's more easier to get a web at a high point and stay relatively close to the center of the street while he alternates shooting webs at buildings on each side of the street.

    this.

his webs need to shoot further. i was really surprised that his web line didn't make it to the crane when he jumps off the roof near the end.

hopefully gnarly web shooters entails longer web lines, otherwise webb is limiting himself to a certain style of swinging. the environment should dictate how spidey moves, not his web line length.

    I couldn't agree more.

If anything was made better by the use of 'realism' in ASM, it was the web swinging.
