its not even early in filming theve been filming since february 5th

Happens all the time.

lol. You are worried because they are fixing something that needed fixing with plenty of time to fix it in. :whatever: I am having a hard time seeing a whole lot of negative here.

If this is about not liking the first movie, this is a completely different conversation.

Actually it's all of it combined. Why have MJ if she wasn't really important? Was her stuff just throw away scenes? Why have throw away scenes? It just irks me that they could have a character like this so inconsequential in the beginning. Fixing it isn't worrying me, it's really that Webb's faults on ASM1 might be repeating themselves here. Essentially, to many strands so that the main ones don't get the focus. And this film was even more tightly packed than the first.

Emma stone will be in TASM3 either way, she is Emma stone and she is contracted for 3 films and judging by alot of the cameos from the first film we are getting its safe to say they won't drop gwen that quick even if she dies in this film, which I think is questionable now

It's as questionable as it was in the beginning really and Gwen's fate is the same since the beginning too. Also if they really want her for 3, you could easily present her as a ghost type figure that is haunting Peter.

What Webb removed was clearly nothing important to the plot, its not the same as TASM, they can skip over MJs stuff and it won't harm anything, so its all a silly argument here about Webbs choice in scene removal, its what they do in many films so just because Webb did it in TASM in a big way doesn't mean it will be the same here

You're right, it doesn't automatically mean it. But that it did happen before? Kinda means it could easily happen again.

So, with this fourth film announcement...

are they planning to give future MJ a two film deal and extend Webb/Garfield another film on to their contracts?

to be fair... just because you're contracted to sequels, doesn't mean you are signed for a sequel. If im not mistaken i think Toad and Sabretooth in X1 signed on for multiple films (same with Alan Cumming) and never got used again

yep this thread is tightly centered around mj all of our bickering will not get her back in tasm 2 like it or not we will all just have to wait until tasm 3 lets talk somthing different believe it or not me along with most of the members have been on this literally all day

MJ is inconsequential for as long as there is a Gwen. MJ gets a few scenes because they planned on using her. They decided to focus on Gwen and Pete longer, clearly MJ would be a victim of that. Seems pretty logical to me.

its the most recent news on the project, of course people are talking about it.

I'll be quite blunt and say that this hardly changes my opinion on how everything seems to be developing in terms of this movie so far. If this means more Electro, Gwen, Harry and Rhino time then so be it.

Those are the things I'm excited about. MJ can wait.

yeah but the same thing keeps popping up constantly so many opinions that reaccure over and over again you would know if you were on this like i have been all morning

Maybe you know something we don't because other loads of movies have had changed endings, I am legend, blade runner, army of darkness, butterfly effect, I don't see why you believe she has to die because once its written it has to happen otherwise it won't be an impactful ending, if They decided to keep her alive then they will end the film after the defeat of electro and have some sorta big cliffhanger ending, electro is the main villian and I truly don't think they were ever gonna bring in GG as a main villain,so it was always what I think gonna be a cameo if he appeared to kill her off, and if say that was gonna happen and it was removed from script and change it wouldn't destroy a good script if done right

If MJ was so inconsequential, they shouldn't have had her. They better find a way to smoothen this transition out and not make it as choppy as the first film. This is Webb we're talking about - guy did great with 500, yet after ASM 1 I'm not entirely sure he can do a blockbuster film.

She wasn't inconsequential UNTIL they decided to keep Gwen around. They aren't chopping things willy nilly like you make it sound. Plans change so the movie changed

I liked ASM. Way less choppy than Spidey 2

Let me say this officially, I never really saw her dying at all in ASM2. Always ASM3. ASM2 is most likely going to deal with parental problems and how one copes with them. MJ would have followed along with that with the other characters. Electro and his mom. Peter and his deaths. Harry and Norman. Gwen and Captain Stacy. MJ and her father. Nothing ever really pointed to Peter having an arc with that, the arc with Gwen would most likely be having to learn to let go and move on; which while it seems the same here would deal more with where the second will likely lead for the characters in the third.

'I am Legend' and 'Butterfly Effect' to my knowledge got changed because the test audiences wanted a "happier ending." And to that, as said, with other films you might find that "skewed test audience happy ending" dance -- but in this scenario we've always known Gwen was going to die at some point.

I'm unsure how 'Blade Runner' and 'Army of Darkness' changed, but I am wondering if they were much smaller changes and not ones that would alter a shift or change in character.

Exactly and that's why I don't trust Webb, he didn't seem like he had a plan with ASM 1 which causes me to question if he does have one.

IMO the only choppy thing about ASM was Ratha. Everything else was fine, maybe a little missed opportunity here and there but nothing bad.

What did everyone think of the twit pic this morning from Marc, I tell you what man I love the way it looks I hope to get a nice far away scene like that with the camera moving in on Spidey

Ugh, test audiences. They ruined The Thing 2011.

agreed!

I saw a clear plan with ASM, and I thinks it unfair to assume he doesn't have a plan because he saw something not working and decided to change it.

MJ gives Peter a ride to somewhere, gwen and MJ have a talk next to peters house probably saying hello for first time, these ain't scenes that will give a choppy effect, it wasn't like its a love triangle where it looks weird that gwens all jealous over no one

ASM1 was far too muddled for me. It was like they brought up the parents in the beginning then completely let that go until the very end. There was a lot more focus in the script.
