Are my pants supposed to be tightening with this news? I don't come in here and gush. I love the costume...what more do you want? If the movie is good then the movie will be good. Too many people on here throw babies in front of cars to grab their phones when Webb posts an obscure twit pic. Omitting a major character from a movie (even though her role may not be huge) is a very important and telling part about production. I would be worried if I were you. I am not worried though, Webb's job is to impress me.

It means nothing, films often film stuff that isn't in the final film, Xmen first class had a love interest subplot that was cut from the film because it needed room for other characters development, many important scenes are cut from other films, alot of cameos for example, its because the film can do without it

it's gonna be interesting when the movie comes out; any superfluous characters/scenes will be all the more annoying given the loss of mary jane's introduction; which is arguably important given what she means for peter after the death of gwen.

all these villains seem to be in tasm2 in some respect, yet they cut out mary jane? seems ridiculous lol. i mean, what is more important? setting up peter's future lover and confidant, or the vulture?

What the hell are you talking about? The villains are Electro and Rhino. Comic book movie spread rumors "confirming" Vulture. But if you are going to believe that, then why don't you believe the rumor of Norman Osborn's severe head being found in a chamber, too?

why do people keep saying that 10 minutes isn't a lot of screen time. Hawkeye in the avengers had less than 10 minutes, yet he was definitely felt.

webb's excuse is that he wants to streamline gwen and peter, but mary jane is THE most relevant character in regards to that dynamic. it would add to the drama, especially once peter breaks up with gwen (chinatown) and gwen meets mj... there'd be some layered romantic tension going on, which we know webb can pull off.

mj as a bonus short film feature on the blu-ray?

We are also judging her 10 minutes (probably less) of screen time based on te scenes she has filmed. Hawkeye had a lot more than 10 minutes, and he played a larger role than MJ would have played in tasm2.

i'm aware that there is no confirmation of adrian toomes, but it seems like that is who colm feore is playing. i also said there would be villains "in some regard", i.e. no way we will get vulture, but we will get adrian toomes.

my point was that if you had to set someone up for a future film, mj is a better choice than vulture.

ps. i didn't say "what the hell are you talking about" when you considered that felicia hardy may be in tasm2, after jones' interview response.

switch what i said about toomes/vulture for felicia/black cat re. mary jane. tis the same point, albeit less strong given that felicia is also a sort of love interest.

i never said gwen breaks up with peter. set pics make it look like it is the other way around.

i should have added the qualification that it looks like they break up, i usually qualify my posts, but that takes more time. for that i apologise.

Adrian Toomes (Colm Feore) is connected to raw croft, which plays a pivotal role in the film. Also, it could set up a sinister six storyline for future films. So why would it be better to remove him instead of MJ?

And it's safer to assume that felicity jones would be Felicia hardy than getting vulture or green goblin in the movie.

Some people in here live in a bubble. That's fine for them. I don't care. I don't respond to their posts about how awesome it was when Spider-Man swung out in front of doves at the end of ASM. What bothers me is when they think they are right no matter what and they rebut posts about general news because it isn't cheery and bursting with rainbows. This is clearly signs of production trouble from either meddling from Sony or lack of being a good director from Webb as he should have caught that before shooting. It's one of those. But apparently, ALL IS GREAT!
