No final swing, I want a better thing.

Do you guys remember how it was rumored that TASM would start with an already established Spider-Man, and that it would show the origins by flashbacks? Well, with that rumor came another that said that the initial credits would be similar to Watchmen's, slow-mo Spidey fighting criminals.

I want something like that at the end credits. Comic book style credits, with Spidey doing signature poses fighting criminals.

So, it would be a mix between Iron Man 3 credits (kinda), Watchmen's and this (jump to 2:22):

I always thought, something like in SM1 when he's chasing down his Uncles killer crossed with something like watchmen's end credits would be amazing. Only it would be a group of thugs instead of his Uncles killer obviously, and with some of the POV shots.

Imagine if we follow spidey chasing a group of cars doing a set-up robbery or something, when Spidey arrives at the scene, its someone like Shocker and then it ends. (Gosh I would be so mad if we didn't actually get to see him fight shocker!)

nothings been officially confirmed as far as I'm aware, everyone's just speculating that it could be 'very' likely on the basis of a set photo with Avi and sinister 6 (as in level 6) behind him.

Oh, I see. Everyone is talking like it's already confirmed. I know it's extremely likely, but I doubt they'd officially announce it before we even get a trailer to the second movie.

Avi Arad is not good with rumor control. He himself has almost confirmed Sinster 6 in countless interviews.

All good. The latter means the second of two that you stated. So yeah, people are just talking as if it's going to happen because it seems like it. No official confirmation but I'd put my money on it.

Well, like anything else, if it was done right, yes. It could be cool.

Just seems like a dour note to end the movie on. Leaves a bad taste in ones mouth ala Man of Steel. City is destroyed- everything's great!

It depends on how its done, and what tone they're going for. They don't have to make Spider-Man swing through it and shove "everything's great" in our faces. They could have him swinging through the city (away from the screen) while the movie fades out and the credits roll. Things are bad, and are about to get worse in the next chapter of his life (TASM3).

If the movie ends with Gwen dying, its going to have to end on a sad note.

Sure, but it just seems like such a strange idea to stage the final swing (which is usually exuberant, uplifting, exciting, inspiring, etc...) against the backdrop of a destroyed city. Why rub that in the audiences faces?

Are people still set on Gwen dying in this? Did I miss something?

A final swing doesn't have to be exuberant or uplifting... it could simply end with Spider-Man swinging off into the distance. Or it could have no final swing at all (considering it will get repetitive at some point).

Of course it doesn't, but if it's done for the express purpose of being eye candy (as with SM1 and TASM), then it would come off as weird for sure.

Never been a huge fan of the final swing anyway. It was fine for SM1 and it at least made sense within the story for SM2, but for TASM, it was there just because it would be cool to see Spidey do some poses from the comics (?)

Hope they don't include one for TASM2 and if they must, at least have it make sense within the story.
