Plain and simple, Gwen's death needs to be saved for the 3rd act of the second movie or third movie.

Preferably the second, with a full Goblin story in the 3rd.

This. I don't believe she'll die in the middle act of this movie. It should be part of the third act of TASM2, or end of the first act in TASM 3.

Why are they rushing her death, is it because Emma Stone won't return? It just makes perfect sense to have the third film with Green Goblin and the death of Gwen Stacy. This builds massive anticipation for the third film.

There is a point when Peter's greatest enemy had a hand in the death of Gwen Stacy. To give that to another villain or your suggestion of Venom is just disregarding that Green Goblin needs to be the villain as it adds a punch to the legacy of Green Goblin and the rivalry between Spider-Man and his greatest enemy of all time.

Gwen did die in the Ultimate comics. She was murdered by Carnage and later came back to life. But I think Gwen dying isn't a question. Marc and Emma have both made their love for the "Gwen Stacy saga" known.

Am I the only one who thinks Green Goblin presence in TASM2 would be kept extremely under wraps? I believe some of that rumour then again it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of it was false.

I genuinely believe when she goes, it'll be Gobby that does it. It's a massive thing in the comics, obviously fans feel strongly about it and I can't believe that they'd change it. Otherwise it defeats the whole object of having all the Goblin teases for TASM3 if he doesn't kill Gwen - he's not the big threat he should be.
