You guys need to see his [BLACKOUT]claws[/BLACKOUT]!! :wow:

Why did he even have claws? he dies straight away
and in the leaked set shots he was just a head without a body
the only thing I can think of is that harry might grow claws in TASM3, other than that it seemed pointless.

My review can be found in the review thread, but I figured it would cool if I give some abbreviated thoughts here.

The best Spider-Man movie to date imo. Also imo, most of the criticisms are flat out exaggerated or not an issue what so ever.
This has the most heart, wit and charm of any superhero movie in the last decade. I haven't been this emotionally moved since Batman Begins. Cap 2 gave me unexpected feels, but TASM2 really sells the feels wholesale.
The best onscreen rendition of Peter/Spidey ever and the most visually appealing film of the franchise.

Heart, soul, humor, action, charm...it's all here. It also borrows from the comics much more than I was expecting. Well, Ultimate Spidey most, I know some despise Ultimate Spidey, but I adore it.

In the comics, Norman was believed dead after the glider impaling as well. But he wasn't. Harry even bribed the coroner so further autopsy reports would show no mention of the "goblin" formula in Norman's blood. I think they'll do something similar here, but different to suit these circumstances. Perhaps people think Norman is dead, but unknown to the public, and likely Harry, he isn't. I think he'll be back in TASM3 somehow.

That's why it can never be the definitive Spider-Man movie for me. Ultimate Spider-Man is not Spider-Man. Not the classic true Spider-Man. I also don't like how they've done the Goblin story placing Harry as the Green Goblin first. That's just wrong. Electro is very under used and cheesy. The only common praise I've heard from people and reviews is Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. Everything else has been getting mixed polarizing opinions. Doesn't sound like a definitive Spider-Man movie.

Have you seen the movie?

I'm sorry, but just because you prefer one variation of the character over the other doesn't make it any less "true".

So what, if these films don't follow the 60s-70s comics and nothing else they aren't "true" Spider-Man.

I'm sorry but it does with this. Ultimate Spider-Man is just an elseworlds take on Spider-Man where they deliberately change things up to be different from the regular Spider-Man comics. So it's not a definitive Spider-Man. It's a deliberately different Spider-Man.

I gave up on that title years ago. Now I hear they've killed Peter Parker off in it for good and have some black kid as Spider-Man now. Just proves what I'm talking about.

Yes. You can't have a true Spider-Man if it's not based off the proper source material.

he is very much [BLACKOUT]Dead[/BLACKOUT]:sus

He couldn't be more... [BLACKOUT]Dead[/BLACKOUT] :sus

Everytime I read that this is the best Spider-Man film to date, that's how I feel:

its such a shame that this film isn't coming out same time everywhere, people are making gifs of some of the more bigger shocking spoilery scenes

i ain't sure whether that will effect the box office

TASM 2 is my favourite spider-man movie and it might be my favourite comic book movie, I still have to watch it a few more times though to decide that. There were some things other movies have done better but overall I thought it was a great movie. Also don't let something stupid ruin the movie for you, like if you don't like a characters design or something just get over it, I remember I hated the first movie when it came out because of the Lizard design and because I loved the Raimi trilogy. I realised that was a stupid reason, watched it again and really enjoyed it.

Naite22 described perfectly. It feels like Christmas is happening earlier to some folks here, while I patiently wait for the midnight of May 1st. :woot:

yeah I was thinking he's still alive because of the claws, why waste time designing him like that and giving him claws if they're only going to be on screen for 10 seconds, then I heard about the head jar thing (is that even real) that really confused me, why go back to your old sick claw body when its probably possible to get him a better one. or maybe he likes the claws.

Working has been an impossible task lately. I need to watch this film at least four or five times between May 1st and 4th so I can get back to work again. :csad:

Dude, I am planning to see two back-to-back showings on May 1st. So excited :woot::woot:.

And, I hear that Spidey 3 won't have the same writers in light of the Kurtzman-Orci breakup. I hope they get Goddard or even a comic book writer like Waid to pen the screenplay.
