As much as I dislike TASM2, I would never say someone is "in denial" for saying they like it. I genuinely believe that you love this movie and wouldn't make such accusations against you.

Not much else I really liked. This franchise is no great loss, that's why the reaction to the Marvel deal has been universally positive, minus a very small minority of dissenting voices (no offense Daltonio and Co.).

You're good. I love them, but it was a failed franchise, no denying that. Sony really could have had something great here, but they got way too ahead of themselves, focusing too much on the future instead of the now.

Out of general interest, what are some things you guys liked about the Amazing Spider-man movies?

One more thing I like is how in this movie, breaking his promise to Captain Stacy by the end of the first film haunts him.

Agreed. The women were the only ones to give good performances, IMO. It's not that Gwen was written all that great, but Stone was cute enough to make it work.

And Field is a talented vet. She could play that role in her sleep and win an Oscar.

I'm not as enamored with TASM 2 costume as others are. The eyes are kinda big,and Garfield wasn't really bulky enough to make it work. (I get some like their spidey super-skinny,but that's a debate for a different time.) I much preferred the Raimi costume.

I've seen some people say the TASM 2 suit looks like a cosplay costume. Would you agree with that?

I really disliked the gold eyes of the TASM costume. I can say the TASM2 is better than the TASM.

It wasn't my favorite, but I did like the costume from the first movie. I liked the design overall, that's probably what won me over. The eyes were the only thing that really made me go 'eh'.

I didn't care for the gold eyes either. And although I still like the ASM suit, imo the ASM2 suit is much better.

I thought of them more as black than gold. But I really like the design of the TASM suit. I dig those shiny textures and the redistributed little details around the gloves, arms and boots area. It feels hip and improvised and like a cool mixture of new and old. The TASM2 one looks great, but I wish they had kept more aspects from the first one.

There's that filter of extra detail that superhero costumes go through for a movie, I thought this costume was a pretty cool application of that. Especially these boots. Could be the closet boot fetishist in me, but I just love looking at them. They were missed.

I didn't like the ASM suit. The design was ugly on a lot of it and he had black crotch lol. ASM 2 suit was much better. It is the only thing that they fixed in the sequel. Everything else got worse.

In the tie-in games Spider-Man wore TASM suit to fight cross-species, but it tore badly while he was powerless for a while and Smythe beamed him.
On the costume selection screen for the second game description says Gwen made the new suit for him.

The games don't affect the movies stories the least bit, but I like that explanation.

Because the designer thought he was being cute by disregarding a design that has worked for over 40 years.

Me neither. I liked how it felt more like a prototype than the final suit he wears in TASM2, which is one of the good things going for it.
