The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Video Game Thread - Part 1

We had two trailers at this time for the last one. Also keep in mind that the first game came out in late June, and this comes out in late April/early May. Something is weird. Unless they're trying to make the game look as great as possible before releasing anything else.

@Shiki.

My excitement for this game is waning. I believe that Beenox could fix the issues from the previous game but at the same time the producers might cut their budget from under them and we may end up getting another piss poor spiderman game. Asm wasn't bad but they hyped up that swing system and then after the game released fans found out it was CLOUD SWINGING. I like some of what Beenox brought to the table for the Spiderman franchise but it seems like their foundation for spiderman games is already flawed. The targeting system is awful. Spiderman only uses web bullets...that's it. The free roam in ASM was not sufficient and in my own personal experience their games end without much incentive to replay them. I liked all the content in Shattered Dimensions but imo the things the game lacked didn't make me want to go through the trouble of playing again. I feel like they are missing the spark necessary to make a definitive spiderman game that surpasses Spiderman 2/Web of Shadows/and I guess Spiderman 3(Never played it).

The first trailer came out in December and another one came out February, we are still in January.

I was talking about the NYCC teaser we got, but only a chunk of it was released officially. I still consider that to be a finished trailer, though.

Oh, well I don't really count a 20 second teaser that was really there for the purpose of teasing the trailer for the VGAs.

I feel like we could get a trailer sometime in February. At least by March. Sigh.

We shoud be getting the trailer this month. I hope.

Can you imagine playing a Spider-man game that was just like TSSM show? Followed the main storyline, had the same great voice acting, with similar animations for Spidey, etc.

I dig the style for a cartoon, but I wouldn't dig that style in a video game. I prefer my games to be "realistic" if you know what I mean.

What about the USM video game? It had that comic book style to it, and Mark Bagely even did some of the artwork.

I didn't mean the graphics/art--I'm sure the game would feature more detailed characters and backgrounds. I meant the story, gameplay, etc.

Speaking of that, what story would you guys like to see?

Me? I'm not sure. However, I would tie the story to the open-world (or linear) map.

What do you guys think would be the absolute best move for Disney to make now with the Spider-Man brand?

I want Green Goblin or Doc Ock, preferably the first one (or both?) to be the main villain. I want Green Goblin to finally be a memorable game villain.

I'd like for MJ to return and be a strong female character. I also want a story that's not about a symbiote/virus invasion, or different versions of Spider-Man. And no more generic robots, please!

Well seeing that they own the TV rights, make a Netflix live action TV show like the upcoming Daredevil.

All I want is an open world Spidey game with a lot of replay value, proper gameplay mechanics, cinematic presentation & animations and Peter Parker related gameplay (being Spider-Man 24/7 = no proper Spidey game for me).

TASM2 looks to be the closest thing to that... I don't want to hype myself up but there's nothing I can do... I'm always hyped for more Spidey.

I want a game that runs until the Gwen Stacy's dead in the 616 universe as shown in "Marvels" (or somekind of Alex Ross style of Spider-Man, darker).

High Moon wanted to make a good Deadpool game, and the head honchos at Activision aimed for mediocrity, then disbanded the studio. Clever business dealing there
I guess now I have a clearer vision to why people hate the chief of studios, the buyer of them, Activision

The lack of trailers till now is VERY bad marketing, and as I said before, people shouldn't expect any improvement here, it will probably be as disappointing as every previous game from them
I think I will try to find a patch to make TASM game have an endless cycle of street missions after getting over them

They could have it like trilogy where in first one the lizard is major villian. The second one has Doc ock and for the third one be Green Goblin.
