Hopefully that will be the case but if not i will not be pleased with them cause I think this is already ridiculous how even not an image has come

I agree. As a potential customer,we have right to get product info at an ideal time.It just goes to show how poor planning these ACTIVISION guys might be having and many of the times the final product suffers due to it...:cmad:

Agreed and this is the reason I feel Spidey will be in much better hands than activision

You know i was just thinking i'd like to see seasonal changes along with weather changes also

That's all we had last time. They didn't start pushing out trailers etc. until 3-4 months before game release. The first uncut gameplay we saw was E3 2012 AFAIK.

Spidey got great games from Activision in the past but now.... for me the best Spiderman game in these last years is TASM.

They should make a Spiderman game with a plot of one varius stories from the comics or make one of them own and give a proper time of development and with a large fanbase that Spiderman has Activision will have their precius amount of money.

Yes, my thoughts exactly. Spider-man had such a good run with several games that he was basically on top of the industry for a while. The problem ended up being that Activision kept the same formula going and used it over and over again. They didn't really do anything to advance the genre and that's when Rocksteady stepped in and took things to a whole other level. I am a fan of Beenox though and their 'love' of the character of Spider-man is def a big reason for that, however, under Activision's thumb they'll never truly get to make the game they are most likely capable of making.

And the point you make about the games being one long trailer is spot on. Activision loves to hype the crap outta the Spidey games with lots of cinematic appeal and rarely shows any type of actual unedited gameplay until moments before the game releases. It creates a feeling of "that looks so cool" just like you stated. Even though the Spider-man games could and should be a whole lot better, they're still a decent quality that is noticeably better than say a Supes game or many of the other movie games that come out. You'd think with Spidey's popularity though, they'd attempt to make something that again advances the genre. Not Activision though. They just use his name as the selling point and release games that have a few bright spots and gimmicks because they know people are gonna eat it up just because it's Spider-man. Makes me sick.

I think you just summed up all Spider-Man games in a nutshell: they're sixth-gen (PS2/Xbox) games. Other than a few minor things here and there, they never moved or evolved past that. Activision is still trying to excite us today with the same things that came out 10 years ago: an open world map that's about just as detailed as back then, realistic webswinging, etc. Even from the way they're advertised - it's like they're stuck in the early-to-late 2000's.

That's why Spider-Man stands no chance at the moment. If he is to have a really successful open-world game on PS4/Xbox-One (eighth-gen), it cannot look like any of the stuff Activision is putting out. Honestly, it can't even look like Arkham City, which was a seventh-gen (PS3/360) game. It needs to look as well made as games like Watch Dogs and Infamous: Second Son.

So when do you think we will get a non-Activision Spider-Man game?

Their contract expires in 2017. Assuming Marvel doesn't renew it, earliest we can get a non-Activision non-rushed Spider-Man game is 2019.

The current-gen consoles will probably be approaching their final years by then.

Sigh. This is just plain awful. Well until then, I'll just replay the PS1 and PS2 Spider-Man games that I like so much.

Spider-Man
Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro
Spider-Man (2002)
Spider-Man 2: The Game
Ultimate Spider-Man

Who knows? Maybe we'll get a better Spider-Man game sooner than 2019

The first movie game didn't feel as good as some say it is, too many robots, hard fights, thugs punch faster than Spider-Man, and the chase before the Goblin bridge fight is really hard
Mission escape Oscorp is very hard as well
Shocker missions are my favorite in that game

TASM1 felt too generic, and was lacking in so many areas. It had good ideas, but never really went forward with them and did anything worth bragging about.

They need to start pushing towards Spidey's true potential or givie it up, I dont want to see Spidey being good or great I want him to be amazing

If activision refuses to do it then they need to give him up and the rest since they don't know what to do with him and their money scheme is the worst

Problem is that the Spider-Man games aren't even "good" anymore.

They need to give him up and let some other company take him to newer heights and surpass Spidey 2

Somone made a video on asking different studios about can mkaing a good superman game well I want to see what other ideas other compnys have for making a definitive Spidey game

Generic is probably the best way to describe it imo. It did help me pass a lot of time when I was in the hospital last year though.

I never want to see that version of web swinging ever, I hated the fact of holding the web swing button down and he would keep doing like in the spider-man 1 game

The only selling point was th web rush and nothing else (wich got old because spide didnt do many moves and too much twisting

Sorry to hear you were in the hospital. Hope all is well.

It was a mix between Spider-Man 1: The Game and SM2: The Game in the sense that it had free roam, but very simple web-slinging. Though I actually do like SM1: The Game a lot. :)

I still have the game I have no problem with it considering its time but it has completely evolved from that point and you can do much more with Spidey

Generic is exactly what TASM is. It isn't bad in Movie license game standards, but it's not good either. They improved things such as the combat and the inclusion of web rush, as well as a cool villain. But other than that, the game was a borefest.

I agree I had to return mine in after I got done playing it and after Felicia mission but that was it, I didnt like the fact that I couldn't be bouncy with spidey, if you see me play a spidey game i'm all over the place

Just heard a short review of the Amazing Spider-Man game:
"Boring after finishing the story missions"

Exactly ^. There was no incentive play anymore. Imo it just wasn't fun or dynamic enough.
