The Symbiote invasion is just one of MANY things I don't like about the game. And, well, yeah, it's just my opinion. But, just like Tim said, apocalypse stories does fit with Spider-Man games at all.

The sybmiote story is what made the game exciting in the first place.

Yeah, we've had too many games where there's a focus on them. Unfortunately, there are too many other villains that don't get ANY kind of focus (even big ones like Green Goblin and Doc Ock). Shattered Dimensions is the only Spider-man more recent Spider-man game that sort of put focus on a variety of villains. Mysterio of all people was even the primary antagonist.

A video game adaption of the Green Goblin story arcs up until the Death of Gwen Stacy would be cool.

Making Mysterio the main villain is awesome, although I had my problems with it early on -I don't fully understand why- it means they udnerstand how awesome Mysterio needs to be

I didn't like Web Of Shadows very much. Grahpics were great at the time but I didn't like how the web swinging felt and I hated that Spidey couldn't walk. You could only run.

Yeah Mysterio is definitely main villain potential when done right. Haha, even Electro has been the main villain, and that worked fine.

Regarding WoS, it's one of my least favourite Spider-Man games out there. Due to these reasons mainly:

1) The symbiote invasion thing was very unexciting to me. I'm not a fan of apocalypse stories for Spidey.

2) The characters were so out of character, it ruined a lot for me. Especially Spider-Man. I was not a fan of the good/evil choices and the VA in this game was some of the worst I've ever experienced.

3) Lots of glitches both in graphics, sound, bugs etc.

4) Terrible boss battles.

5) Bad enemy types.

6) A combat that firstly got very repetitive, where the web attack also was overpowered, and that secondly didn't look right at all.

There were some positives however:

1) The inclusion of the web attack, even though it was overpowered.

2) The airial combat

3) The web swinging, even though not nearly as good as in SM2.

Except the final Venom fight, that is easily the worst boss battle in any game I played from the PS3/XBox 360 gen

A huge problem with WoS is how the symbiote functioned. The idea that no-symbiote = faster and symbiote = stronger is completely inaccurate. The symbiote is meant to enchance all of Spider-Man's abilities.
