Poor Beenox. I'm sure they are probably following Activision's orders.

Well we can prob count on getting GG as the villain for the 3rd tie-in game. But man, all I really want is a 3 year developed comic book based game with lots of resources for the developer to make a AAA Spidey game. Sadly, this is not gonna happen for a while. :csad:

Agreed. Would be nice for Batman to have some competition in the video game medium. Sadly it won't happen for a while.

Well that's just great. And here we thought they've been putting good focus on making a great Spidey game, since it's already almost been a year since the last one came out...

If they ever do make an AAA Spider-Man game based on the comics, I would love to see an Arkham Origins approach to it for the story. Have a young Peter Parker who only recently became Spider-Man encountering his villains for the first time. You can even have someone like the Kingpin hiring certain Spider-Man villains and other villains from the MU to kill Spider-Man. That would be a great concept for a game as long as it doesn't come off as an AO ripoff.

If Beenox isn't into the game, my bets are on Raven Software.

Raven Software would be totally awesome! That would definitely be a step in the right direction.

I guess though unfortunately that it's more likely Beenox will make the next Spidey game as well, just with even less time. Activision will never learn!

If given to another developer, I think the Prototype team is more likely than Raven Software. Unfortunately.

Radical got shut down though :)

Ah didn't know that, thanks for the info! Then I guess there might be a chance of Raven Software developing it! Though as I said, I do unfortunately still think that Beenox will make the next one with even less time in their hands.

i hope not (beenox are so mediocre) lol.

as for raven software, they don't make their own games anymore apparently. ever since sales for wolfenstein and singularity were poor, activision have reduced them to helpers on call of duty titles.

it's a shame too, i heard singularity was pretty good.

maybe high moon studios? they're certainly a step up from beenox. this of course assumes that their team is big enough to do two projects at a time (deadpool and a spidey title)

edit: SORRY OSCORP, i misspoke; radical still exist, albiet in a much smaller capacity since prototype 2 bombed. i guess they are kind of in the same boat as raven.

ugh, this has made me depressed - i hate that activision own the rights lol.

I hope not either. SD was the only enjoyable game from them and it still didn't capture Spidey with that weird combat.

That's too bad! X-Men Origins: Wolverine is one very cool game. Spider-Man is alot harder to get right in a game of course, but I still think they'd be the best option from Activision. Yeah I also heard about Singularity being pretty good.

Hmm High Moon Studios could be interesting given how good their Transformers games are. But to me, the Deadpool game looks mediocre gameplay wise. I also heard that the team that worked on that game got shut down by Activision.

No worries man haha! I think Radical could make a pretty wild and entertaining free roam Spidey game, but I think it would also lack alot in graphics, polish, story etc.

Makes me depressed too. Activision sucks completely. CoD is all they care about these days. I wonder what a dev team like Naughty Dog (my favourites by far) would be able to do with Spidey. They've never done something like that before and they never will, but I still think it would become an AAA game.

ah, i didn't know about the deadpool team being shut down (i still want to play it :P). that would imply that the game isn't too great and that the rest of high moon were working on something else. i wonder what that something else could be...

maybe activision are done with spider-man games, and will just release a cheap IOS tie in kind of like what happened with iron man 3 and man of steel.

naughty dog are amazing (although i was letdown by uncharted 3). not long to go until the last of us! (june 14 for me..)

I really hope activision just ****s off! Give Spidey to someone who is willing to put in all the effort required to make an outstanding game.

I want to play it too but only because of the comedy aspects of it. Graphics and gameplay look very mediocre from what I've seen and heard. Yeah maybe they're working on a Spidey title? It's most likely however that they're working on another Transformers game.

That would suck even more, if Activision doesn't want to make more console Spidey games they should just sell the rights. But seeing how bad Activision is, I think what you say there isn't very far fetched.

To me Uncharted 3 is about equal to Uncharted 2. Too bad trailers gave away most of the cool stuff. The Last Of Us seems to be not only the best PS3 game so far, but the best game of this entire generation. I can't wait! My favourite devs have never disappointed me (I have never played any of the Jak & Daxter games though). The demo was outstanding and the trailers have given me goosebumps!

I totally agree! I wonder what publisher would be best for good ol' Spidey, of the realistic options out there.

I would rather see another company take a swing for the web slinger im tired of activision

They're your favorite dev but you've never given yourself the joy of playing their best franchise?

Bro.

Bro, bro, bro.

Come on, bro.

I really hope that if Beenox isn't making another movie game, they have a team working on a BIG spidey game.

I'd rather them give it up, I was pretty excited for the game last year and when I played it I was really disappointed and it felt like a waste because i turned mine back in for my money, I want to see someone who's capable of handling spidey.

I think best thing possible would be for the rights to go to Ubisoft! They're making one AAA game after another it seems and I think Spider-Man is one of those properties that would fit them like a glove.

This isn't good news. If Beenox is working on the game, that means we may have another of their 'split studio' productions and we'll get an above average half-assed game again. I enjoyed ASM for the most part but they F'ed up the part that's supposed to be the highlight of the game...the free roam. Hopefully there was another developer put on the job as soon as the first one ended. Who? I have no idea. I'm already thinking things aren't gonna bode well here. Time will tell.

 I really like this idea. And for the bolded part...that's gonna be difficult to avoid, lol. Batman games are leading the genre and everyone is playing catch-up. I'd like to see a ground-breaking Spidey game built sometime soon but my hopes are in the basement.

I'd like to agree with you on this but I haven't really seen Beenox 'cut loose' on a game yet. They have been working for Activision and restrictions are a b*tch for licensed games. When you have limited resources and limited time, things prob won't work out the way you'd like. Beenox had a bunch of down time when making ASM waiting on Sony/Marvel to agree on ideas for the game so their development schedule was all over the place. And I'm not sure whose idea it was to include all that other crap, i.e. Rhino challenge, Lizard challenge, Stan Lee, those mini games; cause they took away from the game itself. I remember an Activision rep said they got the game to about 80% polished of what they originially wanted to include in the game. Well, how about they cut out all that 'other crap' nonsense and put more effort into the Spidey portion of the game. Anyway, my whole point of this rant, is I think Beenox could be a very capable developer if they were given, say the same time, resources, and money that Rocksteady were given to make AA and AC.

I think best thing possible would be for the rights to go to Ubisoft! They're making one AAA game after another it seems and I think Spider-Man is one of those properties that would fit them like a glove.

I agree man. Making a Spidey game has to be a difficult thing to do but I'd love nothing more than a AAA effort. All this talk is making me depressed. lol.

Oh God. Based on Beenox's portrayal of New York, I can easily tell that they've never actually been to the city. This is a problem with most Spider-Man games though. NY often looks generic and dull.

I know how you feel :csad:. My hopes of seeing that Spider-Man game anytime soon are in the basement as well.

However, I would go as far as to say that the original Spider-Man game for the PS1 was to its generation what the Batman Arkham games are to the current generation. I also thought the Ultimate Spider-Man game was very well done, especially the free roam.

Now imagine a Spider-Man game with the effects, graphics and animations at the same level of quality as Tom Clancy's Division. I still can't get over how amazing that game looked.

This.

I'd love to see what an AAA spidey game would look like on ps4!!:wow:
