I feel too that the Times Square electro fight was anti climactic, but holy crap that scene with the spider sense was SOOOOO awesome. It was all eye candy for any spider-man fan and it was ALL beautifully shot. We finally got to see the true power of his spider sense.
More like a rehash of Tobey's Spider-sense

Speaking of spider-sense, did anyone else find the flash fight in SM1 really awesome for its time? I mean, when I was a kid, I used to rewind that scene all the time.

It just gives credence to the impact impact SM1 had on CBMs. Without it, the MCU may never have even existed and we would not be seeing something like a BvS movie coming out.

I also feel that no CBM has ever managed to capture a more brutal, intense, and almost personal fight like SM1's. It was like we could feel the raw power of each punch.

I never saw Tobey do ANYTHING like what Spider-Man did in the Times Square fight in TASM2. The most we got from Tobey was sensing that there's an abrupt stop at the end of the train tracks.

Agree with all of this.

I have to agree. It was pretty cool for its time, and I still can't get over how brutal the final fight was.

Well I think he meant that we have already seen his spider sense go off and do that "slo-mo" effect before TASM2.

We'll yes of course, the slow mo effect is really the only way to show the power of the spider sense in film, I can't think of any way thats more effective. Saying that its a rehash is just not fair, what we saw in TASM2 was different because Spider-Man did all of these things at the same time and saved all of these people's lives all at the same time. Besides the slow mo effect, we never saw anything like that before in any Spider-Man movie. It was new and powerful.

Hmm, I think it was sort of a rehash though. In SM1 his spider sense goes off and then we get a very close look at his environment and surroundings.

Well obviously we are going to get a look at Spider-Man's surrounding during a slow mo SPIDER SENSE scene. Otherwise, whats the point of the slow mo then?? In SM1 Peter didnt have to save all of these peoples lives while dealing with electricity and one webshooter not working while a car is being thrown at him while he's in mid air. Not a rehash at all.

I'm talking about the slo-mow effect..
I thought they'd at least give the Spider-sense effect a blue tint or make the edges of the screen white.
TASM1's Spider-sense was different from Tobey's because it was actually in real time
But, yeah it's just one; of the many rehashes from Raimi in this movie.

Such an intense and beautiful moment. Best spider sense scene EVER!! :)

I thought the tasm2 slo-mo spidey sense scenes were pretty impressive myself, I love when Peter has those crafty, on the spot thinking moments.

Though I have my issues with some of the films cinematics, that is NOT one of them. I love that shot so much! That and the dive for Gwen were both pretty sweet :woot:

This is just being petty now. The slow mo effect is THE ONLY way to show a spider sense scene as intense as the one from TASM2. Tobey never had to go through what Andrews spider-man went through where we would see a spider sense scene like the one from TASM2. So your basically saying if they use slow motion then it's a rip off from Raimi?? That's ridiculous, sorry. So I guess that if they gave Spider-Man a red and blue suit then it's a rip off from Raimi as well lmao

Yep, we've already seen that in SM1 and 2. not impressive in the least.

Give me an example where Spider-Man has to save a ton of people all at the same time only by using his spider sense in the raimi films?? Oh and while one of his webshooters aren't working and he himself is in danger as well??? Oh yeah, wait, Raimi didn't use webshooters, and a scene like this NEVER happened in the raimi films.

Well of course the exact details are not the same, but it's the same general idea.

I totally agree man. That shot of Spider-Man diving for Gwen was absolutely stunning.

You mean the general idea of using slow mo?? Saying using slow motion is a rip off from the Raimi films is just downright absurd. Directors use slow motion all of the time, and of course Marc Webb would use it for a spider sense scene. What are you saying?? That if there's a spider sense scene in a new spider-man movie that its a rip off from the old movies?? I don't understand how you guys think that scene is a rehash.

That gif is awesome! That was a great sequence. The slo mo bits were shot really well IMO, and that's coming from a guy who thinks slo-mo should've been outlawed after the first transformers movie :oldrazz:

Yeah they stole it form the matrix lol but yeah really I agree it was a great sence.

Yeah I feel the same way. I usually think that slow mo is annoying and it justs ruins scenes but the slow mo was used PERFECTLY in TASM2. It was truly epic.
