Why does everyone want Vulture to wear dark armor? The classic costume with a modern update would look pretty cool!

It's hard to imagine it in live action, but it could work. I found this realisticly detailed fan art that actually makes the classic design look pretty intimidating

Marvel-&

Would you rather have Spidey go up against Venom?

Well of course..
you guys know Venom is my second favorite Spidey villain

Be careful what you wish for. If Vulture was in SM3 like what was initially planned it would have been a better movie, and we wouldn't be stuck in this mess. Fan's wanted Venom though, and look what happened.

I don't get it. Why is Venom considered by some to be Spider-Man's greatest enemy? He looks cool and has cool powers but there are villains who are so much better.

I'm not the biggest venom fan, but at the time of his conception he was a very different kind of villain. He brought about more darker and twisted stories. If done right, he could do the same in the films.

That being said, there's so much other antagonists I'd rather see first

Honestly listening to the fans is the worst thing a studio can do. Fans aren't professionals, let the people who have degrees/experience/credentials do the work and usually fans are happy with what they get. Take X-Men for example. Fans complain about how it's not accurate all the time, everyone tore into Quicksilver's look, etc. However when the director is allowed to do his job and we get a good movie, we see positive trends at the box office and with critics (increase in profits from X-Men to The Last Stand/ First Class to Days of Future Past) and negative trends in wake of poorly received films regardless of quality (drop in profits from The Last Stand culminating with First Class). This is why I think Avi Arad needs to go, he lurks on the message boards (admittingly) and orders script changes in the name of hype building fan-gasms that ultimately take away from the quality of the film itself.

I'll answer this! Venom pushed spidey to paranio and made him flee for his life at one point. He didn't just attack spiderman he attacked loved ones and made it a point to do so. He knew everything about spiderman and was stronger so spidey sought help from ff cause he didn't know how to handle him. Venom couldn't even trigger his spidey sense so spidey was more on edge not to mention he shape shifted.

Green goblin was a more arch nemesis but venom was the ultimate challenge for spidey. He knew everything about him and instead of fighting him directly he played with his mind and toyed with him and would ambush him from out of nowhere. Perfect movie villian if adapted properly.

How's this for a plot idea? Chameleon frames Spidey so Kraven is hired to hunt down and capture Spidey. Kraven has an agenda of his own however...

Because unlike a lot of Spidey's other villains, he brought him to his knees.
he tortured his mind.. the fight between Venom and Spider-Man was very personal too.
Plus he can do everything Spidey can do and to top it all off, he has the coolest design of all the Spidey villains, I mean, just look at him!

I like it!

Here's what I was thinking: mysterio frames spiderman, the punisher and then Norman Osborn's Iron Patriot hunt him down, both in minor supporting antagonistic roles. Mysterio remains the prominent villain.

It would be awesome if Mysterio was the villain, but I think Kraven or Scorpion should be hunting down Spidey. I think Punisher should be introduced in a netflix series, and I've never been the biggest fan of Norman Osborn as Iron Patriot. Good idea though! It could actually work.

It would only work if marvel was in control, sony would have no idea how to handle the minor antagonists (and they wouldn't have the rights to iron patriot.)

I am a strong supporter of Kraven being introduced before he becomes the main villain for his own film, he requires the buildup for a proper KLH adaptation. Maybe he would work as a hired assassin better than punisher.

Pretty much this!:yay:

Yes, I agree with this. I don't think it would make sense to introduce Kraven in the movie that is all about his last hunt. A good build-up is necessary I think.

I'm really tired of people trying to say this guy has always been a cool confident guy in the comics.

Also that this guy:

doesn't do this:

I never thought Peter cried too much in the Raimi films. Should he just smile when he sees his Uncle Ben dying on the ground?

He actually handled himself very well in Spider-Man 2, I mean his life sucked! In SM3 the relationship was written horribly, but he cried once when his girlfriend he planned to propose to dumped him and told him she had another man, and when his best friend died. I really didn't see the big deal about the tears, the guy had it tough!

If all that happened to me, I'd probably break down and cry. There's no shame in that.

How are moments from his early days (pre-bite no less) any proof of his current personality? What confuses me the most is how many Spidey fans still uphold the belief that the man who has had multiple lovers (one who is a supermodel mind you) would still carry the look and attributes of a basement dweller.

I think the idea Venom being Spidey's greatest enemy is just plain silly, he can not possibly be his greatest enemy when characters like Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus exist. Venom is a popular character of the 90s, his popularity largely based on his "cool" looks and attitude like many late 80s/90s antiheros such as Spawn and Lobo.
