Why anime?
Cause their extreme over the top reaction fits

(Anime sucks..)
Anime is like every other sort of media (comics, movies, American cartoons, video games, theater plays, etc), there's the masterpiece, the good, the great, the decent, the mediocre, the bad, the terrible, and the utter crap

Is it wrong that I just want to see some gameplay footage? Teaser trailer was good, the latest image is really good, but how about showing us this new gameplay mechanic, Spider-rush or web-rush or whatever it called.

Just show us the game being played. I want to see how Spidey looks when he swings through New York. And hopefully a larger New York City than we've had in the past.

Thats what everyone wants man, we all want to see the game in action. Id assume we will get some of that around March.

Id be concerned about the quality of this game even if it wasn't tied in with a movie, but couple that with Beenox's poor track record and I'm not expecting much. I hope I'm dead wrong tho.
Shouldn't the knowledge of a different team working on this game ease up the  :whatever: :cmad: feelings of previous entries from the same studio a bit? A little teensy weensy bit at least?

Yea possibly. But I'm just going by previous history man. Beenox has yet to impress me with their 2 previous entires and this one is setting up to be an even bigger game than the last 2 titles.

I don't think this development cycle is any longer than what they had for SD. They said that development for this game has been going on for around a year, but that's not the full dev team, half of them were still at work on EoT.

I'll give Beenox credit where it's due and that's the fact that they clearly like the character but in their 2 Spidey outings(ranging from decent to downright putrid) they had far more strikes than home runs.
Agreed. Beenox has given us no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Nope. Beenox fooled me once with SD. I didn't even rent EOT, because giving them money will only give them more profit to make another mediocre spiderman game.

I think Beenox has done a great job with Spider-man so far. The positives in SD and EoT far outweigh the negatives. I wasn't a huge fan of EoT but I loved SD. They have proven that they know and love the character, they have gotten the combat down pretty good for what Spider-Man should be. The story in SD wasn't that great but I really like EoT's story and they've proven they know how to write quips for Spider-Man pretty well. Now the idea of adding in an acrobatic way of moving about the world is very intriguing and I'm sure they'll pull it off nicely. The only about this game that I've seen so far that I do not like at all is the big emphasis of that trailer on robots. Eh, I'm sick of robots.

The only thing Beenox has proven is that they love Spider-Man. Thats about it. While Shattered Dimensions wasn't bad, it wasn't that great. Terrible story structure that ended up just forcing the player through a beat em up on the way to a mediocre boss fight. The great fan service is what saved SD. Edge of Time tried to correct this by crafting a creative narrative which they failed to do and ended up with nothing but a finger numbing, dreadfully boring, button mashing romp through horribly generic environments on the way to one of the worst Spider-Man titles we've had.

Saying Beenox has done a geat job with Spider-Man is as much as a stretch as you can get. They've done a serviceable job with the character. Nothing more.

At this point i look at Beenox the same way i look at past Spidey devs. They've given us some good ideas and neat gameplay elements, but overall they fail to deliver the game Spider-Man fans deserve.

I really hope that all changes with ASM, but I'm not optimistic in the least. There is no reason to be.

Im with Jacobed. I feel Beenox have done great with SM, at least with SD as I havent played EoT

SD was nothing spectacular, but it was a lot of fun. The jokes were funny, the acting great, the graphics and environments gorgeous, and it had a lot of fanservice and variety between worlds. Nothing groundbreaking, but fun.

EoT was mediocre, though. The story was excellent, and the voice acting again was top notch, but that's about it. The environments were bland, very short lenght and very repetitive gameplay. The only real highlights were the impressive intro credits and the epic final boss fight. Those two felt like some actual effort was put into them.

Hm, so average to good(Shattered Dimensions) and outright terrible(Edge of Time) equal great?

Your guys standards of what is great is way outta wack. Arkham City is great. SD is just mediocre.

Nah SD is a good game. Sure it had its flaws but it was fun to play, and that is what it all comes down to in the end. The biggest gripe I had with SD was the mobility, you never really did all that a spider could. Web-swinging was sloppy and jumping was useless. (Web-zipping was awesome though.) But considering Beenox have put in a acrobatic button I hope they worked the kinks out.

Agreed, SD was by no means a great game. It was fun in parts but for the most part average. I think too many fans get ******** to admit a game is average. Average doesn't mean it outright sucks, it means some things it does well and some things it doesn't and depending on your tastes or fan level you may love it or hate it.

However, I think Edge of Time was less middle of the road and leaning much towards the 'bad' end of the spectrum. This new game could still go either way but I don't think Beenox have really done a good enough job to cause one to have faith in this, it could be horrible or it could be great, who knows?

So many view both games this way:
SD >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> EoT
For having two less worlds and less environments, yet pretty similar and just a bit less repetitive gameplay

Yea I'd put SD way ahead of EoT. EoT is easily one of the most boring games I have ever played. The voice acting was good, but that's as far as the compliments go. It deserves it's 58 that it has on metacritic.

I am still waiting until I see some unedited gameplay mechanics featuring web swinging and combat before I really start to make any sort of a judgement on this game. I'm pretty sure most everyone else probably feels this way too. That being said I am still excited to see what Beenox has in store for this game and it's their chance to prove that they are capable of making a great free-roam Spidey adventure. Hopefully their love of the character pulls through and the pressure they are under to deliver a quality game also contributes to the success.

I said I never played EoT so I cant comment on that but yes I did think SD was a great game
I enjoyed EoT, but it was just above average. Some very frustrating issues like whenever you're on a ceiling, and combat is not very deep or fun. Even web-slinging besides the zipping, is sub-par to SM2.

Oh yea, I'm not writing this game off, i mean i haven't seen anything about it other than the trailer. Im just stating based off of Beenox's not so great history, at this point, I'm not expecting much. Hope to be proven wrong.

Cool screen shot. I hope the combat is slightly more grounded in reality. Dont want the ability to 30 hit combo a dude in mid air.

I still HATE those damn shoes though.

Also, on kind of a side note, i really, really hope they bring in Norman Osborn as the Green Goblin at some point in this franchise. I kind of hope they end the 2nd or 3rd movie with the death of Gwen Stacey, that'd be great.

Spidey fighting humans.
That's so good to see.

Really hope it's more Arkham style combat in that it feels natural and realistic. The button mashing of the past needs to go!

I completely agree with both of these.
