No, he refers to the Playstation Move. You can use it with the PS3 version of the game. He was saying that the Playstation Move allows you to interact with the environment. He was basically just saying Playstation Move allows you to precisely control Web Rush.
Thanks. I just rewatched the clip and I see what you're saying now (although he still seems to be talking more about the capabilities of web rush on any platform as opposed to just the PS Move).

He's entitled to his opinion. One on hand he's got the 'inside' perspective that we as the consumer, do not have, so he's a bit more educated than most in that regard. However, Activision is his boss, so I don't think it would be prudent of him to bash them. Dee seems to be a pretty straightforward guy but he also seems like a very nice person too.

Eh I think it's pretty damn hard to believe that place is a good work environment, especially considering what's now come out about Activision and how they handled West, Zampella and Infinity Ward. There is NO way that place is a comfortable work environment. Brown is just scared of being dropped by Activision. I don't blame him.

The whole Infinity Ward thing could also be an isolated incident. If it happened all the time then I'd say he's lying but it hasn't. The way they handle some of their franchises isn't great but they may treat their employees very well

I highly doubt that. There is no way they treated all of IW like dirt and were saints to their other dev teams. That company is nasty through and through(internal espionage is about as nasty as you can get), maybe they're just 'less' nasty to Beenox, at the moment.

They have to be, they see how damn good this game looks, they don't want them to leave

No, if they treated the developers of the Call of Duty franchise that way they would treat anyone that way. Call of Duty is their bread and butter, and they still appear to have conspired to get rid of the creators of the series. If the news out there is true, it looks like Activision signed a contract with the heads of Infinity Ward because they wanted a game delivered in the next year and were going through their merger with Blizzard. Because of that, Activision gave away more control of the franchise than they wanted to. Later when they decided they weren't going to honor that control, they decided to find a way to get rid of the guys they had signed the contract with so they wouldn't have to give up that control.

So of course they're being nice to Beenox now, because Beenox is still up and coming and has no leverage in their situation. You can bet if Beenox were making AAA titles that were selling like hotcakes and starting to get too much power, Activision would be treating them very differently if they viewed them as a threat.

I think the general hate for Activision started with the general lack of quality and even the lack of the appearance of them caring about quality and polish in their games. Bobby Kotick came in and said stuff like the developers should stop having fun and a bunch of other jerk-worthy comments. Now they just push out any popular IP and milk it for all it's worth until it completely dries up, like Guitar Hero. A lot of gamers hate Activision because they don't appear to care one bit about games themselves, they simply push out crap that will turn the biggest profit. That's a perfectly fine business strategy, but it won't build you any fans amongst your customers. Take all of that and then add in the Infinity Ward mess, and Activision's reputation is not unearned or unfair. They've built it themselves over the past five plus years.

Beenox themselves must surely know the pitfalls of working with Activision after having to make Edge of Time. I don't know the specifics, but I highly doubt Beenox was the party who wanted to churn out an underdeveloped Spidey game in 2011 with only one year of development. That is classic Activision right there. Activision has said themselves in the past that they wanted a new Spider-Man game out every 18 months, which is just too often to deliver high quality games consistently.

Yea thats basically exactly what i wanted to say. Dee Brown is completely in the wrong here, the hate towards Activision is COMPLETELY fair. I might, might have agreed with him before this whole IW situation started, but with the recent news of Kotick personally spying on one of his own dev companies to find ways to fire them(without paying them what they were owed), there is no 'pass' being given to Activision.

I mean maybe he's right, maybe they've been great when it comes to Beenox, but to say the distaste for Activision isn't fair is just beyond ridiculous.

I think there might be gamer zeal at play here too though. I mean sure, I hate activision as much as anyone, but they're still a huge company. I'm sure most other give companies like EA, maybe even Ubisoft, can be pretty scummy too, it just hasn't come out yet. I mean look at the whole Studio 38 think with Schillings... You never know what's going on behind the scenes with these companies. Maybe Dee is just saying its not fair that Activision gets made out to be the one big bad compared to others. For all we know the guy has been screwed over worse by EA?

None of those other companies are facing a potential billion dollar loss due to their treatment of their employees though. Maybe those others are as bad, but they've yet to demonstrate it the way Activision has. That's why they deserve the hate they get, that's why it's not unfair.

I think if Activision just dumps Kotick it would help their rep immensely.

Kotick is a piece of trash. I agree that if Activision would just dump him they would improve.

Im calling it now, thats coming. After the dust settles with this IW fiasco, the board will have no other option but to ditch him, or he'll resign. One way or the other, Kotick's time with that company is coming to a close.

Don't we have a whole thread dedicated to Bobby Kodick?

Bobby Kotick may be may be a bad person, but just look at where he has gotten the company. He is obviously a talented businessman and brings in the cash.

Ya know, i dont know if thats true. What did he really do? S**t he didn't even want West and Zampella to do Modern Warfare, he begged them to make another WWII CoD game. I think he was just in the right place at the right time. He happened to be there when the music game genre exploded and those 2 guys created THE definitive shooter of this generation. All he did was force these developers to crank out these titles on a yearly basis. He basically struck while the iron was hot, which borderlines on common sense. Now he's staring down the barrel of a potential billion dollar lawsuit that he was instrumental in creating. I dont really see whats he's done well that John Riccitiello or Tim Sweeny or Yves Guillemot wouldn't have done.

Probably, but the discussion is happening here, not there. As soon as theres some good Spidey info, the thread will redirect itself.

Well I really don't wanna defend the guy, and a lot of what you said is true. But (and I'm just pulling this out of my ass, as I'm to lazy to look up sources at the moment.) isn't both EA and Ubisoft leaking money? I swear I've read that even if they don't exactly lose money they're not actually making that huge of a profit. All three companies have annualized or almost annualized series. But there is no denying that Bobby's rule have made Activision the biggest publisher in the business.

I'm not gonna touch the lawsuit as I haven't read the court papers and I'm not planning to either.

That was better than most of the official trailers.

Really well done. I liked.
