Which of these franchise killers do you think is worse, and provide reasons for your decision.

FF made TASM2 look like a masterpiece.

FFINO for me as it was able to make a film with a measly runtime of 1:40 feel like an incredibly slow and dull 3 hour movie. The scary part is that's not even hyperbole.:wow:

Exactly. TASM2 for me is like MoS or The Wolverine or TDKR or Batman'89. It's a bad movie but there are still lots on individual good aspects to it(I gave each of those a 5/10). I didn't see one good thing in Fant4stic. NOT ONE. It's utter trash and deserved to make no money what so ever.

TASM2 was like a 2/5 type movie for me. FF was a 1/5.

Well the comparison thread had to happen sooner or later, haha.

Why not get all the Franchise Enders in one big ol' poll?

I have no interest in seeing Fantastic Four '15, so my opinion on the matter is not complete, but I liked Amazing 2 enough to see it more than once.

ASM 2 suffered because it wanted to function like an MCU movie.
FFINO failed because it didn't know what the hell it wanted to be.

FFINO. Like Flint said, the film was bi polar. It had no idea what it wanted to be.

For me, both movies are horrendous and failed, but through the exact opposite reasons.

Sony was overly ambitious, trying to do too much at the same time, while ballooning the budget . Failed to find a proper vision as they were too caught up with their greed, thoughtlessness that it led to a heaping mess of a product.

Fox on the contrary, had no ambition, and their intentions were middling at best.Merely making a film at the last minute to abide contractual agreements. Wanting to take the cheapest route in producing this movie, and hoping for some profit, to give them an excuse to make more cheap FF to turn a profit, and hold on to the license.

Ultimately, I choose FF, as not only is it a hollow movie, but one created with very little effort put into it. Sony may have proved incompetent in making a good Spiderman movie, but they atleast put some effort (misguided effort) in making a great film, while Fox had no desire, and it shows in the finished product.

It really is a toss up. But I will go ahead and say Fantastic Four. While both are horrible, at least Emma Stone was really good in the worst Spidey sequel out there.

FF 2015 is worse, BY FAR!! TASM 2 was very inconsistent and had tonal issues at time, but it was still:

-Better paced.
-Had genuine chemistry between a lot of the actors (FF 2015 had none).
-Had some pretty cool action scenes.
-Had an actual story behind it (even if it had some problems).
-It at least wasn't boring and didn't drag (which is ironic since it's like 45 minutes longer than FF 2015).

And most important, it felt like the people who made it actually gave a crap. They were trying (if anything, they were trying too hard).

TASM II was a competently made film that was mediocre. FF was just flat out bad. No comparison whatsoever

TASM 2 is not a good movie. However, it does have a few redeeming qualities. Namely, the action sequences (which were superb), the score and the chemistry between the actors (Garfield and Stone particularly).

Fant4stic, however, has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It is quite simply one of the worst CBMs ever made.

FF gets my vote.

I haven't seen FF (and not sure I'm even going to) so I won't vote, but I can't imagine that it has any chance of turning out better than TASM2. Both from what I've seen and what I've heard it seems far worse.

You have to see it. Suffer like the rest of us did.:argh: Wait for it on Netflix or something.

:woot:

If I'll see the movie it will definitely be at home in some form. I had tickets to see FF at the theater but swapped them in for M:I RN when I saw the reactions. Very glad I did.

I would actually say that Fantastic Four does the power discovery (with the body horror of Cronenberg) pretty damn well. I also really liked Franklin Storm in it and his relationship to his kids. So, I will not say it is worse than, say, Wolverine Origins, Elektra, Catwoman, or Green Lantern...

But that is like finding a distinction between crap and poop. You are right it is still a terrible movie and not one worth quibbling about.

4stic is worse not that ASM2 should be let off the hook. Difference being that one was worth a redbox coupon and the other isn't worth a torrent.

I actually think that TASM 2 isn't a terrible as people are making it out to be. I just find it to be "mixed." The fact that it has a lower score than SM 3 baffles me, because SM 3 is a far worse film imo.

DACrowe The problem with Dr. Storm is that:

-His dialogue seemed to consist of nothing but clichés/platitudes.
-For all of his talk about the importance of family, we never really SAW the Storms interact as a family. Sue and Johnny never really come across as siblings (or share much dialogue together) and Johnny and his dad's dynamic isn't all that interesting either.

I really enjoyed ASM2. It's a really clumsy movie with coincidence and happenstance connecting scenes rather than sophisticated writing but despite that there are good performances and the (spoiler) death scene (spoiler) really hits home. That doesn't happen if you aren't engaged at least on 'some' level with the characters.
I agree with Loki882, I think ASM2 is way better than SM 3 which is still 'fresh' on RT.

I pretty hated every minute of Fant4stic. Total bore fest with dull as dish water characters and probably the worst climax for a movie I have ever seen.

I don't think it does at all. The movie doesn't linger long enough on the characters in pain/'anguish for you to feel the horror of the situation.
The Fly and District 9 do a far better job of getting that aspect of the movie across.

Mostly agreed. I was trying to point out there have been worse superhero movies out there. Not many, but I did appreciate some of those elements, even if the film is still an awful 2/10 experience overall (whereas I would give 0/10 to Green Lantern or Elektra for example).

But I am not going to die on this hill for what is undeniably a terrible movie.

My bad....thought the question was which is better. Fantastic Four is by far the worse movie.

FF was so bad that it makes me wish they had kept the fantasticar in it.
