Sorry, guys. I know I'm new here so I apologize for my manners but, ****, know what I hate most about nike? It's always trying to reinvent the wheel.
You have years, decades, nearly a century of "home" and "road" (or "away") uniform concept. You can use alternate words like "white" and "color" or "light" and "dark". That's right.
Then Nike comes with this new concept. I went to google what the fellow user answered me here (thanks, buddy) and I just find out that "association" is the white jerseys (home, dammit!) while "icon" is the color ones (away). That's according what I read from Nike and NBA. "statement" would be the alternate uniform (God, I miss Bulls' black jerseys).
That said, Lakers.com states what Webfoot just explained, white is association, gold is icon. And purple, statement.
My brain doesn't want to process that: is, by any chance, Lakers wearing gold as road jerseys? Purple will just be an alternate model?
Thanks, Nike, destroying a large tradition even before the jump ball move.
Dammit.
I hope Nike be away from NHL.
