The amazing thread of Uniforms and Logos - Part 2

The Lakers have already announced the golds as their Icon jersey and the whites as their Association jersey. The purples are their Statement jersey so the only ones left are the Community one (which many think will be a black version) and their Hardcourt Classic one.

What the heck is the difference in all these?

Sorry, guys. I know I'm new here so I apologize for my manners but, ****, know what I hate most about nike? It's always trying to reinvent the wheel.

You have years, decades, nearly a century of "home" and "road" (or "away") uniform concept. You can use alternate words like "white" and "color" or "light" and "dark". That's right.

Then Nike comes with this new concept. I went to google what the fellow user answered me here (thanks, buddy) and I just find out that "association" is the white jerseys (home, dammit!) while "icon" is the color ones (away). That's according what I read from Nike and NBA. "statement" would be the alternate uniform (God, I miss Bulls' black jerseys).

That said, Lakers.com states what Webfoot just explained, white is association, gold is icon. And purple, statement.

My brain doesn't want to process that: is, by any chance, Lakers wearing gold as road jerseys? Purple will just be an alternate model?

Thanks, Nike, destroying a large tradition even before the jump ball move.

Dammit.

I hope Nike be away from NHL.

The NBA said the removal of home, road, and alternate designations from jerseys will allow teams to have more choice as to what they want to wear when past rules dictated when, where, and how often certain uniforms could be worn. For example, under the old rules, the Lakers had their gold and purple uniforms as their primaries, meaning they could only wear their white and black ones on a limited basis; under the new rules, they can now choose whichever one of their jerseys to wear at home and the away team has to choose a contrasting uniform in return. Most teams have already said they'd stick with their traditional way of doing things (Lakers and Celtics have already said they'd stick with their traditional home/away as much as possible) while others have said they'd be real flexible in which uniforms they choose.

Let's see how it goes, then. If fans approve, other leagues may follow this format.

Why in the hell are the 49ers wearing black? If it ain't in your color scheme, you don't need to wear it.

well, if they wore red, it would've been the condiment bowl.

That sponsorship patch reminds me of my younger years watching to the NHL.
