Whedon has said multiple times that he is tired of directing movies with superhero teams in them and wants to take a break from it. More than likely that means he won't be directing IW 1 & 2, but I hope he at least stays as the screen writer with the Russo's directing. That would be perfect.

I think Whedon might be tapped to direct Captain Marvel 3 years from now. By that time, Whedon would've made one or two movies and be mentally prepare to tackle another Marvel movie.

I do too. He excels with female characters and this would be less total characters which is what he really means when he discusses the "troubles" of directing Avengers. I imagine he'd want to possibly have the opportunity to direct Marvel movies for decades. Maybe sneak in an indie every other film.

I can't put my finger on exactly why, but they all seem to look a bit different in this pic. Maybe a bit too much Photoshop?

The Avengers are simply called The Avengers in the movies in German speaking countries. In the comic books they are translated to Die Rächer. As for their battlecry...

Joss stated in an interview recently about Captain Marvel:

My only issue with her is that she always felt sort of on top. She was very driven. A winner. I always like to dig into the soil of things to find my heroes, if I can.

I don't want Whedon directing Captain Marvel for this reason. She's a US airforce officer who could be a positive female role model and he would want to 'dig into the soil' for her character? No thanks.

All of the female MCU characters to date are either morally flawed (Widow & Gamora) or have emotional problems (hinted for Scarlet Witch). I would like Captain Marvel to be a positive character like Steve Rogers. Whedon's weird brand of feminism won't deliver this. This movie is to important to get wrong.

a valid point. too many writers failed at writing interesting interpretations of Cap or worse Superman, because they can be incredibly boring in their flawlessness. Danvers is in that league (and I've failed to read a comic where Danvers was written in a way that interested me, hence my reluctance to the Captain Marvel movie that doesn't focus on the more interesting Mar-Vell or Monica Rambeau) so she needs a pretty good writer and a director who is able to work around her blandness in the Cap Marvel movie

We have such a wide range of great personalities for the male characters, I would like to see the same for the ladies. Plus I have a lot of respect for the bravery etc. of military personnel and would like to see this reflected in Carol's character.

Hawkeye needs to be fully prepared for every eventuality. That means regular pierce-flesh arrow, explosive arrow, internet chip hack/download arrow, fart gas arrow and chicken arrow.
