Who would make a fat robot?
We'd seen everyone in action at least (in both trailers and prior films) and knew the main villain well. Also had the bigger exposure of a Superbowl spot and main trailer.
You know what would be crazy? Remember when loki seemed to have a vision of the other while he was holding the scepter? What if something along those lines happens between Thanos and someone in this film? Maybe stark or ultron himself?
I guess I don't feel spoiled by footage as I don't put everything into my 1st viewing of these kinds of films (I'll be watching them hundred of times over the next few decadesAh ok. We also knew loki's general "i have an army" plan. As in we got the gist of it. How pleasant would t be if we didnt see anyone in action until we were in the theater. I know that wont be the case since the last two weeks leading up to it will be littered with tv spots and behind the scenes stuff and what not but it would be kinda cool if they didn't show much of anything in trailer 3 and what not. I probably wouldn't be happy but I'd thank them in the long run.
Exactly. The first one was a by the numbers film setting all the pieces up and this will be the one where they take all that great set up work and do something clever with it. It really feels like I don't know a lot about how things are going to go down.Yeah the Superbowl trailer for Avengers showed the final battle and the team shot. The story was also fairly straightforward and people were able to piece together that the first part of the film established Loki and setting up the team which would include all the in team fighting. And then they would come together at the end for the NYC battle.
There are so many more moving parts to this film and many characters whose roles/names we don't even know yet. In addition to all those speculations there still could be characters in the film that come out of nowhere.
I have a feeling that Avengers 2 has a lot more up its sleeve. I don't want to set my expectations too high, but some aspects are definitely being hidden.

Yes I like the direction they're taking with this, confusing things and introducing more anomalies at the time we're expecting clarity. The final trailer will still need to deliver on visuals and showy moments (I think a team action & still shot & some tease at least of Vision) to draw the public in like a Transformers trailer does but the plot and other aspects can be shrouded in mystery till we see the film. Certainly not the kind of marketing I was expecting. That's the main reason I liked the 2nd trailer for AOU. While the first was epic and really gave us something to wet our appetites, the 2nd trailer was darker and more mysterious. The woman in the cave, Ultron/Stark/Cap on a ship, Thor in a strange setting, Black Widow operated on, Stark actually the one fighting Hulk.
The 2nd trailer usually makes the plot clearer but the 2nd AOU trailer made the plot more opaque and more difficult to piece together. I'm hoping the 3rd trailer gets even more complex and really makes us go into the film having no clue what's going to happen regardless of how much footage we've seen. That would be one heck of a marketing campaign.
