I want them to go out of their way and hire another 9 Chris's for parts, that way we can get a MCU of Chris's calendar!

Slashfilm:

@slashfilm: Avengers: Age Of Ultron is bigger, more complex, darker, more action packed than the first film, but ultimately not as much fun.

And that's from a geek blogger who's big into the Marvel movies... Oh well.

Not as fun yet darker and more action packed is an okay tradeoff for me. lol. It was gonna be hard to top how ridiculously fun the first movie is. Its hard to up the ante and stakes, while keeping the exact same level of fun as the first.

I can´t imagine that the movie that will set up for CA:CW, will be as "fun" as the first Avengers film.
Yeah there's no way. Empire Strikes Back wasn't as "fun" as A New Hope. But that doesn't mean it was worse.

Jeff Lemire has been doing a great job with All-New Hawkeye.
I haven't been paying attention and didn't know Jeff Lemire was doing it (or anything for Marvel for that matter!). I love his Animal Man so I must check this out.

I guess he didn't say it was a "slog" to get through.... There's that.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing whatever has been described as "weird". Whedon set out to make it dark so...it's dark. Dark and fun? I would think that'd be hard to do and deliver everything else expected in this movie. Oh well, reactions come from an honest place, so I can't argue with that.

I'm so excited I could bust! Trying to manage my own expectations. It's hard, I'll not lie.

Slashfilm's not the only one.

Kevin McCarthy @KevinMcCarthyTV · 8m 8 minutes ago Just saw #AvengersAgeOfUltron! Insanely fun action but a bit of a step down from 1st flick. Not as much fun.Very convoluted.Spader is great.
Oh well, knowing it's darker, I was expecting it to be less "fun," anyway. I'm not sure that will equate to a "step down" for me.

I need more of this.

#AgeofUltron is outstanding! Whedon is gracefully able to balance characters, script, action, and drama to stronger effect than the 1st.

It always seemed like it was obviously going to be fun but darker and more serious so that's not a problem for me. That doesn't mean a step down for me so haha

Kind of lowering my expectations for it, TBH. It didn't have to give up "fun" to be more complex? And hearing it is convoluted? Hmmm....

Careful though... Someone posted the mid-credits scene. No spoiling it ;)

Overall, most critiques seem to say it's more convoluted/overstuffed with characters and at times incoherent, but the character stuff digs deeper in more satisfying ways. I've been concerned for the longest time that introducing the twins may've been a misstep amidst Ultron/Vision/new subplots (as awesome as they seem), so I guess we'll see.

I'm all about character, tone, & theme though, so any complex or simplistic plotting isn't too much of an issue as long as exposition and junk overwhelms.

After TASM2 I no longer trust instant first impression tweets. I will wait for actual reviews and to see it myself.

For me I don't put any stock into what critics say. I know I'm gonna love the hell out of the movie so I just am dying to watch it over and over already haha.

Age of Ultron is bigger, darker & more action-packed. Personally thought the first was a bit more fun and even but this did not disappoint

I suppose convoluted is a believable downside. There's a lot going on and I can imagine it'll be easy to miss a ton of stuff, and maybe even a bit confused by some plot points upon first viewing.

But since this is the kind of movie you want to see multiple times anyways, it'll probably all click together soon upon repeated viewings.
