It's a known fact Stark has privatized world security. Stark isn't running a mansion full of arc-less superheroes who inevitably will be offed in some time-travel shenanigans after 5mins of screen time.

What's crazy is it'll probably continue on up until the day the movie is released, so we have about a year to look forward to it.

It would make sense to create an Avengers Academy. 6 people took on an army last film. Since then HYDRA has been rampant, A.I.M formed, Malekith attacked London and SHIELD crumbled it makes sense to get more heroes.

Since Avengers 1 we have gotten

Iron Patriot
Falcon
Winter Soldier (maybe)
Deathlok (maybe)
The Defenders should be around by Avengers 2

Remember Stark thinks in advance, thus the 43 Iron Man suits, plus it makes sense.

Yea i don't like the idea of loads of super powered kids just popping up. Doesn't just take away from the core Avengers, but it takes away from the importance of the Twins and their recruitment. Which will obviously be a big part of the story. We'd end up with a load of cardboard cut outs defined only by their super powers. No one wants that right? To quote The Incredibles "If everyone is super... no one is".

The Avengers are re-building SHIELD i'd guess. Once SHIELD was destroyed it was inevitable the likes of Rogers and Stark would wanna set a new organisation up that isn't gonna be infiltrated or corrupted. I'm guess these "recruits" are the remaining loyal SHIELD agents and some new guys.

Im not worried about the recruits, whatever theyre there for will just enhance the MCU.

...interesting tidbit that others pointed out is that Chris Hemsworth's stunt double had wore the sleeveless Thor armor while Chris Hemsworth himself wore Thor's "battle armor" (Suit with sleeves) as seen here. This points out that Thor is changing his armor through lightning and is preparing for battle.

I dont think Tony and Cap want anything to do with SHIELD at this point. Strucker doesnt want anything to do with HYDRA. Its a new age folks. Whatever Coulson & Co are doing regarding SHIELD, Id say The Avengers arent involved and have their own thing set up so they cant be infiltrated again.

It really does look like a scene of Steve and Tony saying goodbye to Thor, now.

It's funny because I assumed that outfit RDJ was wearing (with the dark t-shirt and the random purple stripe across the front, in the pics we saw earlier) was just his regular clothes but it turns out he was in costume.

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if this scene's part of the end of the movie, it reminds me of when Thor left at the end of the first Avengers.
