I actually liked the first two Harry Potter movies.
Same here, in fact, SS is my second favorite HP film, behind POA.

I remember Disney announcing that they were going to continue marketing overseas well beyond release because they feel that the movie is great and has legs.
I hope they ramp it up a bit in places like England and Germany.
Haha, I smell ONE BILLION DOLLARS
Yes, I think for this film it would be very effective. THe US marketing seems to have been absolutely amazing but I think they can do more to get saturation to the levels of the very top films where even the guys in the old people's home are raving about it!I remember Disney announcing that they were going to continue marketing overseas well beyond release because they feel that the movie is great and has legs.

t:Hopefully the spectacle plus that extra bit of actual heart and characterization can push it past tf3I smell even more. I'm hoping it can outgross TF3. That's about the best I can see it doing.

It has a great chance of getting no.1 comic film overseas.
SM3: $554m
TDK: $469m
Good point! How do you know the guys in old people's homes aren't raving about it?
Give me a few more years lol.You haven't been visiting those have you?![]()
Yeah, 3D also plus the weekend excluding Japan & Russia as well. Legs will tell the story and $700m+ would be nice along with $450m+ from US. I'm confident of over $1bn..$400m US & $600m overseas in any case. It's definitely on pace to and it more than likely will. When you factor inflation plus the fact the foreign market has grown significantly since the years of those films. Especially China, where TDK wasn't even released for example.
Anticipation + a huge marketing campaign + a truly great movie that exceeds expectations + word of mouth + critical acclaim; is the perfect combination of factors to make this #1 in worldwide box office.

I didn't realize TDK wasn't released in China. Now I'm seeing the logic behind Marvel's moves with IM3.
Should be closer to 500M than 400M after next weekend. The possibility that The Avengers will have grossed close to $400 million after next weekend is staggering. Whoever did the marketing for this movie deserves all the money and accolades Disney can give him/her because the campaign was nearly perfect.

Yeah, what I expect. $178m plus a whole week of further overseas receipts with new territories plus a massive US opening weekend.Should be closer to 500M than 400M after next weekend.![]()
