The Avengers The Avengers: News and Speculation - Part 27A sub-se - - - Part 12

I'm contemplating completely bowing out of this thread and all Avengers news from now on until release.

I feel like I've been so oversaturated with marvel news and the like over the last year, and with the Avengers probably being the most significant film ever made for any Marvel fan, I think it's a film I really want to be completely surprised by.

In Cap I actually found it really distracting when I recognised bits and pieces from trailers and things I'd read. It'd be nice to be surprised and blown away with Avengers.

This is a good idea. If I'm lucky enough I'll be studying abroad in Wroxton next semester and can be distracted from going into my "boredom mode" where I just browse these forums for any scraps of info.

Gonna try and sit the next year out. I'll prolly fail, but if I go into Avengers cold as possible (minus any trailers of course), I'd love to be very surprised instead of sorta "filling in the gaps" as it were.

can you imagine the coat rack in that meeting room. cap's shield, mjolnir, iron mans suitcase armor.

I can't wait for that scene where Cap walks in on Hawkeye wearing a piece of everyones outfits.

Cap: Uhhh.... Hey

Hawkeye: Oh hey, Steve... Uh... this is just... Uh... I'm training for

Cap: Is that my Shield?

Hawkeye: Yeah, I was just getting used to the weight of it, you know, in case in the heat of battle I ever needed to, you know, use-

Cap: And Tony's helmet?

Hawkeye: Well, yeah, it's got this, uh, this cool night vision thing that, uh, helps my aiming and...uh

Cap: And Widows Thong?

Hawkeye: .........................

Tony: Hey, who's the babe in the cool armor!

Cap's new suit is awesome, Thor's one is... weird. I like the one in his solo movie more because it looks like it's based off of the modern costume costume. This one looks like some weird mix between the classic & modern suits.

I wonder if the amount of Thor in the trailer means if Marvel was extremely pleased with the movie's BO results...or if Thor's just the most filmed character so far. :P

Which is honestly one of my favorite Looks of Thor next to Coipel's Thor

Same here. Actually, it's my favorite look; it has more of a viking look, wich I appreciate.

Yea that's why I like it so much.... Makes him look so much more bad ass..... But there is something about Coipel's look that has me hooked :oldrazz:

What an awesome interpretation. Dude looks like a viking(love the boots especially, the Pale skin doesn't hurt).

I feel marvel is pushing thor in this trailer because his movie was their more recent big success. I'm honestly surprised they're not selling this as n RDJ movie.

And it's a good surprise. Marvel really should push all their biggest and most succesful characters equally.

So... does anyone have the links to the trailers so I can download it?

You know the ones for 480, 720, and 1080?

after how all powerful they made thor in his movie, I look forward to seeing what he looks so worried about in this.

Imo, he didn't seem nearly as "all powerful" as some people are making him out to be.

I dunno, he took care of that Destroyer pretty easily, not to mention hordes of Frost Giants and one big ass beast

Thor pretty much always pummels Frost Giants and he was brought back down to normal levels for his fight with Loki.

Imo, Thor defeated the Destroyer so easily because he was fighting smart instead of mindless hitting it with Mjolnir (takes notes A:EMH).

I don't think that was depowering Thor though, I think it was more like boosting up Loki's physical abilities, presumably so he can appear formidable for Avengers, as well as making a nicely balanced end fight scene. Thor still freaking punched a hole through a giant monsters head.

I agree to a point.
I just think the direction and a few other things kinda skewed the communication.

What Thor was doing at the beginning seemed like childsplay to him. Then, after his friends "grueling battle" with the destroyer machine, a battle in which they get tooled, Thor get's his powers and disposes of it in a few screen seconds(real time). Odins ultimate weapon against invaders gone and thor seems to be breathing even calmer than usual. He goes home to fight the boss, his brother and I would think equal, they have a good hand to hand(best conflict of the movie though thor clearly states he doesn't want to fight and ultimately hurt him) and the rest is major spoilers. I just didn't see Thor really pulling a spiderman vs (any of his villains) in his movie. So I really don't quite know his measure if you catch my drift.
(I prey Snyder at least has superman breaking a sweat but hope he all but kills him).

Again, maybe it was just the direction, but because the story did allow for a lot more tangible struggle out of Thor(I actually have somewhat similar issues with Cap and definitely Ironman). A change of direction and perhaps thor would have struggled and overcame the destroyer in a different way. Loki may have bested him in hand to hand and hand the spear at his throat...etc.

So yes I truly wonder what seems to have Thor as engaged as he appears(at least) to be in this except.

Also, it was his first outing. He was still young and brash, he's only going to get more powerful. I mean, isn't that the case with all superheroes anyway?

I agree Wolvie

Spider-Man pulled off **** in SM2 and SM3 that I would've never thought he was capable of in SM1.

Hopefully Thor follows in Spidey's footsteps, because Iron Man seemed the stay on the same level between IM and IM2.

But IM 2 was all about Stark upgrading everything. In IM 1 it was basically just repulsor blasts and that shoulder rocket, and then taking a stab at the unibeam. In 2, he had those awesome lasers (that cut everything in half), he created a whole new suit of armour in a suitcase, he and Rhodey discovered their combo move. He did a bunch of new stuff, whilst still suffering massive personality disorder :P

Also, I think Stark is easily the character who still needs the most personal growth out of all of them.

Agreed.

Well that, and that it's likely that Thor was holding back due to it being Loki and all. I mean he did say at the beginning that he didn't want to fight him.

Hmm.... have to say.... not sure i'm a fan of Thor's new look.... but i doubt it'll ruin the movie for me.

He did have those awesome lasers and new suits, but he didn't really seem all that much more powerful than he was in IM 1 (just abit more advanced).

Well I think the big difference between his combative abilities in the final fights for Iron Man 1 and 2 respectively, was that he was essentially handicapped in the first film due to having low power on his chest piece.

In any case, I'd say that the the red lasers from IM2 are definitely a vast improvement for his arsenals.
