The Avengers The Avengers: News and Speculation - Part 27A sub-se - - - - - - Part 15

I think the secrecy behind this movie is because of the director. Joss Whedon hates spoilers leaking out about his projects. Cabin In The Woods has been in the can for several years and no one STILL knows what its about.

After snooping around a bit on wikipedia reading up on Thanos and I came across what I believe is what we may be getting in Avengers.

"The character first appears in Iron Man #55 (Feb. 1973), and is established as a "cosmic villain". Thanos forms a plan that spans multiple titles, including Captain Marvel #25–33 (bi-monthly: Mar. 1972 - July 1974), with cameo appearances in Daredevil #107 (Jan. 1974) and Avengers #125 (July 1974) and a one-shot story in Logan's Run #6 (June 1977). Wishing to conquer the galaxy, the character builds a base on Earth, constructs a space vessel that acts as a "universal translator" for his huge army of alien mercenaries, and begins an obsessive quest for an item called the Cosmic Cube, which can make wishes a reality."

Take out the base on earth part and add Loki to that somehow and you got yourself an awesome movie! An army of different Alien Mercenaries will explain why "They all look different"and we may be able to "name"each race while Thanos with Loki's help is the main bad.

That sounds very plausible and better then a Skrull Invasion, only because a massive invasion sounds like a very tall order for Shield and 6 Avengers to handle. My only complaint is that Thanos should probably be reserved for a sequel. Then again he could totally work. I hope Ronin is there. Also if they are going this route I really hope they bring in Captain Marvel.

A few extras told to go home after getting caught tweeting yesterday on "Avengers" set. Wonder who'll break the rules of the contract today.

Eh, they're still tweeting & snapping pix) Especially the ones, that are working/hiding in some buildings (rooftops & floors).

For one, I appreciate those with insider information about our CBMs, particularly The Avengers, so thanks!

For another, the speculation about who's the alien baddies in Avengers has been teetering back and forth between fun-to-read and annoying for me. Right now, it's totally in the fun-to-read category. I will totally **** myself if Coull-Vell actually does happen. I'm not banking on anything because I'll have to do a complete 180 if everything here turns out to be wrong.

Also, #AvengersCLE has been the aces search for getting updated information.

Show me where I posted that on my site or anywhere on else on the net. A direct link please, because those statements are full of crap.

As a matter of fact, find me ONE article on my site that's Avengers related that is both original content and has been debunked. I'll give you $1000

I'm not suggesting you're lying, but you're a journalist, you report whatever's out there. You're only as reliable as your source. Your source may indeed be very reliable, but since you can't say who it is, I'm not going to blindly believe what you say, not out of disrespect to you, simply from experience of it not having been the case before.

I couldn't find the article, but I remember you (and I'm sure others do to) saying the Skrulls were the villains.

Edit: Here are two links I found

"MARVEL'S SUPERHEROES TO FACE THE ALIEN RACE THE SKRULLS IN THE AVENGERS FILM"

"THE AVENGERS MOVIE WILL NOT FEATURE TOM HIDDLESTON'S LOKI AS ITS VILLAIN"

so this super-secret shooting today was just them blowing up an Acura dealership?

Oh yeah, seems they'll no longer be a source for pics now. Fortunately, Marvel can't do anything about onlookers lol

Srsly, all these people on Twitter are buzzing about seeing Thor and BW and no one is taking pictures.

They...are...FAILING <==my impression of Red Skull

Shame on yous, you know it's easier for people to make up and believe completely unfounded theories because it fits what they want to see rather than listen to people in the know.

The problem is, there is literally no way to determine who is really in the 'know'. I'm more inclined to believe you know that both you and Marvel are saying the same thing, but there are still considerations I have to take into account. For instance, how do we know Marvel Freshman, who is in someway connected to Marvel, isn't your source.

Both my parents are journos and I myself currently work in a newsroom, so I know the way the industry works. The entertainment industry itself is so turbulent and full of erroneous getting spread around, I think it's a fairly good rule of thumb to not trust anything that is not being said by an official representative or has some sort of set photo or hard evidence to back it up. "Sources close to the production" can be anything from someone in marketing to someone in make-up or lighting.

I also don't understand why you get so indignant when people don't take what you say at face value when as a journalist, you of all people should know how important evidence actually is to back these things up. You shouldn't begrudge people for reserving judgement, when it's the over accepting enthusiasm of fans that leads to rumours in the first place.

@ThePowerCosmic,

I'd remove that link dude, it's probably frowned upon to post links of a film that's still in cinemas, as awesome as it is.

Yep, and you'll find plenty of other similar links for content aggregated from other credible news outlets (unless you don't consider AICN credible, I'm not entirely familiar with them). As far as original content that came from me first and foremost, not once did I state that the Skrulls were the main or major baddies in the film; only that they will be mentioned in an effort by Marvel to expand their cosmic side of things.

And as far as my site goes we don't "report whatever's out there" for any project, or else we'd have 10 articles per day with redundant set pics from the same films and continuously sourcing scoops from gossip rags and twitter. Obviously you want to put info out there that people are hungry for but you have to do your best to responsibly report the truth. Lying for hits is completely counterproductive.

I'd just like to point out that I'm not affiliated with Marvel Studios. What I know comes from sources apparently "within Marvel." I can also tell you personally that I'm not Poni's source. If anything, you should take his word over mine. Although, both of our "words" seemingly matches up. But like you both say, it's understandable to be skeptic evidently when you just don't know.

YES!!

The moment I saw that in the movie, I knew I would very soon see it on the internet in a meme-ish type sense. Although I had a gif in mind. :awesome:
One funny moment i think could be a meme or something was afte skinny rogers became muscle Rogers and Peggy quicky touched him in the chest
