Thread manageeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!! :argh:

So...Joe Quesada's panel today...any chance that we might see something Avengers-related?

Is it just me or does the "We have a Hulk" line hints at Hulk being portrayed as being out of everyone's league in this film (namely Thor)? It's not strictly a "Thor" thing either, because if Ms. Marvel or Wonderman were part of the Avengers in this film I would feel like it's a slight to their power as well.

All I ask is that Hulk doesn't get potrayed as "Mr. Kick Everyone's Ass" in this film like he was in Hulk Vs. Thor or Ultimate Avengers (even A:EMH in a way). Hulk and Thor are pretty much even in the comics, I was hoping for that to FINALLY be portrayed outside of the comics as well.

it's late and we will get new set stuff tomorrow, so this will get buried fast, so i'll just start this up till i fall asleep.

would it matter if he was called lieutenant america? i mean he is called thor god of thunder after all. it's right there in the title. i will give whedon the benefit of the doubt and think that the demigod deal is part of some smart repartee. sort of a slight if you will.

Man. This Thor vs Hulk **** will never end, will it? Is it not enough that Stark calls Thor a demigod?

He just means that no matter what the other side brings to bear, the good guys have the ****ing HULK, and nothing Loki can do can match that.

It's not a slight on Thor, it's just a line to pump up Hulk and sell his awesomeness. Thor is going to get to show off too. making Hulk awesome and giving him some cool lines and things isn't taking anything away from Thor or anyone else.

It's just selling Hulk and making him look cool alongside everyone else. Stop being so frikkin jealous!

Jeez, does poor Cap spend the whole movie getting hammered by everyone?

As long as he keeps getting back up again I don't see a problem.

You just don't know when to give up, do you?

You're right, I'm jealous because I feel personally disrespected and I wasn't just pointing out something I noticed (saracsm).

Oh and I'm sure Thor was the only heroe I mentioned in my post too (even more sarcasm).

Oh, bull ****. You've made a career out of worrying if Thor is going to be properly represented and if he's going to play second fiddle to Hulk.

And I'm telling you otherwise. They can make Hulk look good without making Thor (or anyone else!) look bad. The only downside is peeps like you going all Grandma Worrywart over every line of dialogue.

If The Vile One were still here taking questions, I'd ask him whether or not the "fight" between Cap & Iron Man seemed to be sparring/training, or were they in earnest. And why is everyone beating on Cap? :waa: (The last question is rhetorical, of course.)

You got me Whiskey, you hit the nail right on the head.

I'm just a scorned little fan boy.

I wonder if Loki has his helmet in the movie. It did sort of fall off into a wormhole at the end of Thor.

im wondering if loki will fly in the avengers.

I think the FOUR Main Avengers will all have have their fair share of the spotlight going towards them throughout the film.

Judging by today's footage alone, we saw Tony Stark getting the best out of Loki in a verbal exchange.

The Hulk will most likely have this arc where he learns to gain everyone's trust and change their perception about them.

Captain America could potentially end up as the team leader by the end of the film.

And in regards to Thor's importance, considering the fact that it's Loki who'll be causing the biggest problems for Earth throughout the film and that Loki is Thor's main antagonist...I think that indicates as to how involved Thor will be in the film as well.

I must say, after reading all these descriptions, I'm literally dieing to see this footage.

Maybe Tony simply can't believe he actually is the God of Thunder from Norse mythology, and it's sort of a running joke involving the science meeting magic thing. And even after seeing him in action Tony has to frame it as him being only a demi-god (still half-mortal) because of Thor's human like appearance. He may be basing this on mythical/religious demi-god characters such as Dionysus (according to some forms of the myth) or even Jesus (born to a mortal woman) who look very human and still had powers; just not as much as their godly fathers who they inherited their powers from.

Now I'm not sure about Thor in mythology but I'm pretty sure both parents would have been gods, so in short: I think he just doesn't believe this is actually THE God of thunder (and maybe not the real Loki at this point) or something entirely divine yet.
But he still recognizes that this mortal looking man possesses extraordinary, inexplicable powers, so he acknowledges them by calling him a demi-god.
