Definitely. In TFA, Cap was always just shown as a soldier, and we didn't get much depth into the awe-inspiring icon. But as long as we get that in either the Avengers or the next Cap movie, I'll be happy, since I know that TFA took place before he'd really gained that icon status.

I think Evans can pull off modern Cap, which I feel like is a healthy a blend of pre-Serum Steve and soldier Steve.
From what Evans has been saying it seems that he likes this version of Cap a little better what with the whole man out of time thing.

Not for me. The Cap from early Avengers is totally different than the one we have today. The Cap that is fighting in WWII is of a single mind and fighting the tyranny that was the Nazis for all the reasons you know already. All the deeper stuff was explored later in the present day.
Well to each his own I guess. I definitely believe that Evans is the man for the job, I just want more out of him in Avengers.

How do you know the script is 129 pages?
like what xeno said. The stolen script was 129 pages.

However I just remembered that it was a draft opposed to the shooting script, but it was dated April 2011 so it wouldn't be too different to final copy.

But doesn't the depth they gave him pre-sss count toward the same person? I mean, it's not like they're two separate characters. they spent the 1st half giving him depth, so it's only natural that once they give him powers and the audience knows his motives that they start focusing on the soldier, and give the people the action they came for. That was the best approach imo.

I think we saw two separate sides of the same character. Once we got soldier Steve, there was less focus on his character as it was established pre-serum. It just kinda jumped into Steve being a soldier and completing missions. Like I said, I was okay with how post-serum Steve (as a soldier) was portrayed, but I hope that when we see modern Cap, we're shown more of how the two sides of Steve are reconciled. Seeing him with that relentless underdog mentality, but now with the means to do something about it.

If they are able to show the first 20 mins then I doubt it's the finished product. But I'm just guessing. Still it would be cool to see.

...

I'm going to be there.

GET THE **** OUT OF HERE! HOLY OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD

I'm freaking out right now,

this can't be. That ISH is seriously exclusive! Like is it even possible for them to have their first 20 official minutes already accomplished?!

They should apply WB's strategy with TDK & release those 20 minutes as a "prologue" in December. They could attach it to a Disney movie & pretty much double its BO with it.

So...ya'll think there's going to be a title card sequence like the Spider-Man films had for this to remind everyone of what's going on or will they go right into the business?

That's actually a pretty neat idea.

I think they'll just go right into it and inform the audience what's going on throughout the beginning of the film.

I think I would like a title card sequence like Spider-man 2's. Most people won't watch through all of the MCU movies before watching the Avengers like I plan to. It would be good for casual movie-goers, plus could provide some cool visuals for the more hardcore element.

Wait what?

He's referring to WB releasing the first 6 minutes of TDK (Bank robbery) early. He'd like if Marvel/Paramount/Disney do something like that as well with The Avengers.

I'm sure it wouldn't be 20 minutes though that's for sure.
