The Avengers The Avengers: News and Speculation - Part 27A sub-se - - - - - - Part 33

The bottom line is that a lot of footage was shot on soundstages, behind closed doors, far from the prying eyes of the geekarazzi. We don't know who showed up to film what kind of soundstage/greenscreen scenes, so there could be several surprises still in store that never got leaked.

In any event, I strongly doubt Red Skull would play a huge role in the movie, if at all, but I could see him making a cameo easily enough. Both Thor and CATFA featured the villains meeting a very similar fate --- i.e., both Loki and Skully vanished into the cosmic void. The setup is right there --- easy enough for them to cross paths and join forces (or butt heads, for that matter) somewhere in another dimension.

Plus, a 21st century HYDRA would likely look entirely different than the WWII costumes. Geekarazzi wouldn't know what to look for in spy pictures.

As far as the WWII-era CATFA HC figure: I'm still wondering if there's a WWII flashback somewhere in the Avengers movie. Keep in mind that IMDB (credibility issues, yes, I know) *still* lists "1940s Soldier" in the cast list.

You're in for a surprise :cwink:

i hope the trailer comes out early in the week rather than thurs or friday....

lol Sorry, I wasn't saying that to imply that I have some insider info (that I'm willing to share :cwink:) . It's just that Skull will not be in this movie like sites are suggesting. At most, he could be seen in archive footage. He WILL be alluded to though considering he did have the cosmic cube, and plus we've already heard dialogue from the movie that alludes to him.

Those thinking they may have shot some secret stuff with Skull are in for a surprise.:yay:

Based upon your knowledge can you confirm that the most recent scene description is fake, and tell us whether or not the french trailer description is accurate.

I was the one who was sent the French trailer description, and as pointed out in the article, I honestly don't know how valid it is. However, I have yet to see/hear anything that makes it inaccurate.

Regarding that recent scene description. I don't know 100% if it's fake, but I HAVE seen/heard a few things that proves it is.

Cool, thanx.

I actually forgot that it was you who sent the trailer description in; fail on my part, lol.

It will be discover that Skull is the leader of an Alien race that was summoned by the film's villain. You all will be presently surprise...I guarantee it! ;)

The thing I hope this movie does more than anything (besides be good) is renew interest in Hulk. I want an Incredible Hulk 2 damn it.

Yeesh! Gotta save something for the Avengers sequel man!! How about the Cap sequel sets up Red Skull and Hydra in modern times then have them be the Big Bad for the second Avengers movie?

That could work, but I really want to see Ultron as the big bad for Avengers 2 with Hank and Jan joining the Avengers earlier in the movie.

Me too, call me a hulk fanboy, but i want another with Ruffalo. And most of all i want the tv show, or some new news on it!

Same here, with the Leader....I want to see how that is concluded, with all of that blood; possibly another creation joins him.

I wanna see the TV show too, but I'd like to see Tim Blake Nelson get his villain on. :yay:

Even if all the footage was shot on sound stages, I still find it hard to believe they could keep Red Skull being a major villain a secret.

Unless...

Watch there be a secret villain, and then it turns out to be Batroc the Leaper. It would make me smile

Mandrill is who I'm shooting for personally.

I don't get why everybody wants Ultron for the sequel. Thor can just throw Mjinor at him and it'd end, or Iron Man fire his repulsors. I think Red Skull and HYDRA would be interesting, or Kang the Conquerer. I have a theory that Phase II will consist of a search for the other Infinity Gems, hence why the heroes go their seperate ways. It could turn out that Kang (or whoever the villain is) is pulling the strings behind their own movies's sequels and sending them off the trail of the Gems. Pure speculation but it'd be cool.

Also, we've heard that Manadarin won't be the villain of IM3, as Shane Black doesn't seem too keen on him. Maybe that's because he's the villain in Avengers 2? That wouldn't be enough for The Avengers to re-assemble and add members (or replace members, nugde nudge wink wink) so maybe Mandarin, Fin Fang Foom, Red Skull and HYDRA!? It'd be truly epic if that happened. Another thing, I think Hulk might leave in this one. I just know that he'll find a cure to his disease and leave, I won't be suprised if it happens. I've got a feeling that Ant-Man, Wasp and Black Panther will come to the team. Who else will leave? Once SLJ leaves Maria Hill will no doubt join the group and Black Widow will probably betray the team like in the comics.

Pure speculation. Or is it...? ;)

Any villain can be theoretically easily dispatched. Red Skull can be pummeled into red Playdough by the Hulk, taken out through a Rube Goldberg reaction caused by one of Hawkeye's trick arrows, or consumed by Loki's serpent. Ultron, along with the terrific list of villains you have suggested can pose a menace if scripted with care.

Having Hydra as the Avengers opponent for the second movie doesn't make sense when the team has so many great villains of their own who could be used. Hydra does pop up on the Avengers' radar from time to time, but they are really Captain America's nemeses. The Avenges have a rogues' gallery of villains that makes Hydra look lame by comparison, villains who can potentially individually destroy the earth. Thanos, Kang, Ultron, The Kree & The Skrulls, etc. It would be far Better to set up Thanos first, then Ultron for Avengers 3, or whatever order they choose.

This has never been the case. In all of the Avengers' many battles with Ultron, the mad robot has been able to hold his own against the entire team. Ultron recently took Iron Man/Tony Stark over cybernetically and gave him a freaking sex change as a bonus. His adamantium body, advanced weaponry and innate ability to adapt to any foe makes him pretty much impervious to physical harm. Most of the time the Avengers defeat Ultron with the comic book equivalent of a saving throw because they can't destroy him outright by themselves. Nothing like a little deus ex machina when the villain is too powerful for the heroes to defeat.

Good villains don't have to be a purely physical threat. Thor can't throw his hammer at every computer and electronic system on the planet if Ultron takes them over. And that's a minor feat for a supergenius killer robot who no doubt will have much broader plans for our elimination.

Also, indestructible metal body.

Ultron would be a great movie villain. The storyline from EMH was great
