I like the early EMH punishment where loki was in the gray realm with no sound.

I'd like to see either that or the "snake venom in the eye" thing done in THOR II, maybe he could be put in the Isle of Silence with the "snake vemon" punishment used to threaten him if he messes up again.

He has received this punishment in the comics.
That could also be thor2 :csad:
But I hope that is not so

movie odin would not do that, he is much nicer than comic odin.

Ha, Loki just sat on the sidelines and watched Odin's anger and punishment for Thor in the first movie. It reminded me of how the younger sibling normally gets it easy while the older sibling is treated rougher by parents. :funny:

Can't wait to see how Odin actually punishes Loki for his actions in The Avengers... if he even does.

He should, Loki would've have threatened not 1, not 2, but 3 realms by the time the events in The Avengers are over.

this is too brutal:csad:

I'm guessing his issue with finding his place and seeing humans as being meant to be ruled, ... i'm guessing those things overthrew his dislike for thor.
Since the two seperated at the end of the last movie, maybe he didnt even expect thor to show up, with the bifrost destroyed and all.

good point though, i would've loved to see jane there somehow

I can totally picture a chained Portman in a semi-nude slave outfit laying below Loki's throne :word:

It's no more brutal than Loki attempting to enslave mankind and killing thousands of people in the process, let's not forget how he killed several Frost Giants in an attempt to destroy their entire race at the end of THOR.

Odin should punish Loki, I just hope he's present in The Avengers to do so but I doubt it. If anything, we'll see how Odin reacts to all of this in Thor 2.

I'm still wondering if that rumor was true about the Avengers traveling to Asgard in this film.

Course while I"m a little skeptic about it, it'd be pretty sweet to see the group end up fighting in another realm for the climax; taking the fight to the alien's territory.

odin has the worst punishment for his adoptive child in den comics:csad:

I hope for a less gruesome punishment in den movie

Which is why Thor should never do it.

Thor should never do what?

Thor should never punish Loki in a similar way to how Loki acts.

Come on, how long have you been reading comics for? Do I really need to do the whole "That's why we're better than them" Cyclops/Xavier/Captain America speech

It's gruesome but fitting, Loki's most powerful weapon is that mouth of his after-all.

I'm not looking for his mouth to be sewn up as punishment but it should be something brutal.

What are you talking about, I never said anything about Thor punishing Loki.

Yes it does. The opening to the trailer is character driven. It doesn't just jump straight into the action.

You've got Steve in the gym clearly jaded and frustrated, taking it out on a punch bag. Banner in some shack in the middle of nowhere, obviously not please about SHIELD finding him. Thor talking to SHIELD and being apprehensive asking what they want from him. Stark in his penthouse being snarky about how SHIELD said he wasn't suitable for the Avengers.

All character moments. Not development no, but why would there be development or growth in a trailer? That is a stupid thing to ask for. How many trailers, ever, have had actual character development? All it needs is solid introductions to the characters and insights into what they are feeling. The trailer does that. Even with Black Widow and Hawkeye, who obviously feel out of their league.

Precisely. If what some of the people who have seen the rough cut of the film said holds true, this is the way the plot of the movie itself will progress.

I for one am a strong supporter of the death penalty. You can't go around killing people & expect to get away with it. Thor killing Loki in defense of Earth would be extremely heroic.

in the comic I thought it was terrible because these people are his family.
that is their child and brother and they laugh:csad:

There's also punishments reserved for those who are guilty of crimes without resorting to killing someone.

I don't think Loki will go on unpunished for whatever crimes he commits in this film, but I don't think that Thor killing him in cold blood would be the best means to punish him.

True, but this is a war and their are many many casualties in any war.

You justified him being chained to a rock for eternity because of all the awful things Loki did, I said Thor should take the moral high ground rather than matching eye for an eye.

You just... You just keep saying the absolute PERFECT things for me to disagree with :P

I didn't justify Thor chaining him to a rock for enternity, I was justifying Odin chaining Loki to a rock for enternity.

Besides what's so "immoral" about punishing someone who destroyed thousands of sentient beings, those actually killed Loki in the comics before btw.

He should not kill his own brother if he loves him.
