I sort of hope they own the rights to Cable, so that there can be a Deadpool & Cable movie sometime in the near future.

I don't know how I feel about Marvel owning the rights to Wanda & Pietro. I like that they can be Avengers, but it'll take a big aspect of their characters away if they weren't former Mutant Terrorists under the leadership of their dad. :/

On the other hand, it doesn't look as if the Black Widow is a former Russian spy in the MCU... and who cares...

Eeeeh... so-so.
Her mutant ability is energy manipulation. If she had been born anywhere else other than Wundegore she would have been somebody like Havok or maybe her own father, but because of where she was there was this demon/warlock guy nearby who decided he could use her so he messed around with her a bit. The result was that the energy she ended up being able to manipulate was "Chaos Magic", which often gets translated into reality warping. She became a Witch, if i recall correctly under the tutelage of Agatha Harkness, in order to gain more control of her mutant power, since it had been bound to a magical sort of energy signature.. and the rest is history.

But "Chaos Magic" was retconned into non-existence:

"Writer Kurt Busiek redefined the Scarlet Witch's powers, and maintained that it was in fact an ability to manipulate chaos magic, activated when she was born. Busiek's redefinition upgraded Wanda's powers substantially, and she is shown as being capable of feats such as the resurrection of Wonder Man. She was here described as the "nexus being" of the Marvel Universe, capable of birthing children with power enough to challenge avatars of Eternity.
Writer Brian Michael Bendis revamped Wanda's powers yet again, with Doctor Strange stating that there was in fact no such thing as chaos magic, and that Wanda had been altering reality all along."

Thor said that in Asgard magic and science are the same thing, not that one is necessarily posing as the other.

We'll get plenty of exposure to reviews from other countries through RT early on.





Having watched the Dark Shadows trailer with a real sense of horror, I can't be so confident of Depp's ability to handle Doctor Strange. The promotional photo released for The Lone Ranger was horrendous. Depp has gone back to the "quirky" well one too many times. I doubt Marvel would let him do any such thing with Strange, however, even were he interested.

If Depp showed interest in the part and agreed to lower, somewhat, his price tag Marvel WOULD snap him up without a shadow of a doubt and let him do whatever he wanted as Strange.

They pretty much allowed RDJ to make Stark fit in with his own gallery of quirky, oddball characters so you think they wouldn't let a bigger star do the same thing ?

I JUST SAW AN AVENGERS TV SPOT ON TV AND IT WAS AWESOME! It actually showed a slight extension of the circle shot and it showed off a bit more of Cap in the shot.

His suit and cowl looked great.

As much as Depp being cast as Dr. Strange uninterests me, he's not a completely oddball choice. He's a good actor and Disney/MS know that he will put butts in seats and guarantee at least a huge opening weekend. It's not like he's be horrible for the part; he's more of a safe bet that doesn't fit MS' track record of casting unknowns.

That Lone Ranger photo was tracking very well according to Disney's figures and the Dark Shadows trailer is as well (especially with critics who ware really hesitant about the project). If all pans out he'll have two more big hits under his belt.

Although I've heard that he wanted to play the character rather than MARVEL wants him.

The last rumour I heard for DR. STRANGE was that MARVEL wanted Benedict Cumbercatch.
