I know this is off topic but, Is there anyone here going to SDCC? I need info on how early to buy tickets and what not for next year.

You may want to hold off on that. I've read two separate articles today saying that companies are starting to pull out of Comic-Con. There won't be a Superman or Batman panel this year. There's word now that the Avengers panel might not be so big. I'd wait to see what comes out of this year's version of the show before planning for next year.

Over in The Dark Knight Rises thread, some guy at that Expo twittered that he saw the initial posters for TDKR and Avengers. He's most likely full of it, but just wanted to let you all know.

Hmmmmm I dunno.... That'd be awesome, but it seems way to much like a fans wish list for a perfect poster, rather than something Marvel would do for their first Avengers poster.

Yeah. That seems a bit jump-the-gun-like for the studio that played a clip of a movie that had just started filming that and played a teaser trailer that wasn't even written yet at Comic-Con. t:

Well RIM told us a while back that we were getting an Avengers teaser trailer AFTER the 2nd Cap trailer, which we haven't seen yet, so i'm not holding my breath until that day comes.....and on that day? The Avengers will be born

After the great response they got at last years Comic-Con, it's hard to believe Marvel would sit this one out.

I wouldn't blame them with the growing difficulties in having a place at these conventions. They don't need to be at every convention, although that said, SDCC would be the one I would expect them to show at out of every convention.

I doubt Marvel would have any trouble getting a spot at Comic-Con, especially given the hype The Avengers movie will generate. I'd think they'd get more consideration than some lesser hyped property, but than again, I don't know much about how the Comic-Con booking process works.
