While I liked the execution of the origin for the most part, the lightning effect was...less than ideal.

Couldn't disagree with you more. Considering the budget the show likely has, I thought it looked quite good.

And, frankly, I'm just over complaints about special effects at this point, in regards to almost everything. We're spoiled as ****.

I always wonder how any of those villains actually pose a threat to Flash. At least Grodd has mind control.

That is the biggest question for a Flash TV show's plot. You can't have Flash be stupid, and you can't have these huge area effect things. I think a lot of the issue will be that Flash has to find these guys, and that these guys learn pretty quickly that they need to keep him busy.

I think the Particle Accelerator will be responsible for the creation of the Rogues (as well as other colorful original characters).

I hadn't thought of that, but that's brilliant. I was really wondering why they had it affect the whole city like that. But using it as their "meteor shower" makes abundant sense. The New52 updated the rogues to having powers instead of improbable gadgets and that makes sense.

Ah, but then people will give the show **** for doing the same thing as Smallville. Or not just because they like the Flash show more than SV.

Yeah man you gotta watch the whole thing sometime. Series was a lot of fun. Episode Beat the Clock I think it's called is a good one...I know he vibrates through a wall in an episode as his body's reaction to a dangerous drug some thugs shoot him up with....there's a lot of surprise moments like that throughout the show that made me go "that was awesome!". Mirror Master episode is pretty darn good though... You got to watch the episode Twin Streaks where some guys try and clone The Flash and basically end up making Bizarro Flash, and definitely check out the episode where Flash gets thrown into the future (Flash Forward I think it was called?) and Pike like rules the town. Good stuff.

Yes, yes, and yes again. I need to finish this series yesterday.

Those people can suck it. :o

I guess every villain basically needs prep-time. Prepare situations in advance that occupy the Flash, forcing him to rescue civilians. And setting up tons of traps along their planned escape routes.

To be fair, 10 seasons of Smallville doing that was traumatizing for most of us.

I doubt the Flash series would handle it that poorly though.

I'm betting we'll get just glimpses of the Rogues in Flash's show. Much of it will be procedural investigation stuff into bizarre crimes.

quick face swap of a manip jmc did for me.

I'm fine with a suit like that, in fact, that's one of the best mamips I've seen, and I've always said to just add lightning trim to his boots like the waste and arms if they're absolutely against the yellow/gold boots. Pretty much solves the problem and still looks pretty good.

A few things to change to make this manip perfect though:

- The lightning trim needs to be more pointed/slanted/"lightning-ish" as it is in the comics instead of more rounded how it is here.

- The mask/cowl needs to be fixed. GET RID OF THE GOGGLES/VISOR. Now that just looks stupid, like he tacked a pair of safety glasses onto the costume, makes him look like a snowboarder or something instead of a superhero. Unless you're TurboMan, it's just wrong.

Get rid of those and give Flash his trademarked scalloped mask/cowl (comes to a "point" on the cheeks, like an upside down triangle, and whatever you do don't give him a nose piece, mask should ride over the nose closer to the top leaving the bottom of it exposed)

- The ear pieces need to be bigger, the fins need to be much larger, here they look like little antennas or elf ears. WRONG. Check out some Ethan Van Sciver Flash drawings from Flash: Rebirth to see exactly how the ear pieces should look. They look the best they've ever looked there and are perfect for live action like that - they look cool.

- And finally, maybe also lose that shoulder pad(s). Just looks bad and stands out too much, IMO, while not over armored like some of the suits I've seen, I still think any amount of armor on Flash, particularly any visible amount, just looks bad and goes against the nature if his character which is that he's supposed to be a character of motion and action and MOVEMENT, he does not stand there and take it, he is proactive and moves. Armor is pretty much the opposite of that, so I'd omit as much of that as you can. And even so, it's not like he needs it to protect himself as he super heals at an accelerated rate and his aura protects him from many things as he runs and allows him to move and do the things he does without his bones breaking, etc. (His protective aura was created by the Speed Force when he got his powers).

Fix that stuff and you have a pretty damn awesome suit there that is perfect for The Flash. :)

The classic cowl is absolutely perfect. No need to change it.

Am I crazy or did anyone else notice a streak of red and yellow just before the lightning struck through the window?

Nope, I saw it too, like a red blast as it hits him, and it was awesome. Foreshadowing, perhaps? Very excited for October. :D

 Haha this is true.

I prefer the classic look and i hope the speed force electricity aura is on the suit like this. It would explain why he has to wear this special suit.

Yeah.Supe's is not bad,but I'd say Flash's are better.

Mirror Master,The Trickster,Captain Cold,Captain Boomerang.I'd like to see them tackle Gorilla Grodd at some point.:awesome:

Not better, that's why they're not as popular, Lex Luthor alone is a better villain than all of them. Besides, some of them are just ridiculous, Captain Cold, Captain Boomerang... only Captain Hot and Captain Frisbee are missing!! :oldrazz:

Then we have Gorilla Grodd, just for budget reasons I don't think they would use him, and since the producers said they want to keep it "grounded", that's another no.

So get ready for quite a few changes, including the suit, he's not going to wear cheesy spandex, he needs protection just in case, he's not Superman who doesn't need any. I already see the usual hate from some fans who are too rigid to accept any change.

How would some of you try to adapt his villains? Look wise that is. I'd go with the theme of evolution, like in Arrow, so I wouldn't have the villains immediately start out in costumes. But putting them into something, that give nods to their comic look.

With Mirror Master, I'd give him army boots, cargo pants, a Balaclava and throw him into this jacket.

When he gets caught, sees Flash in costume, and decides he's gonna be part of the game, he could design something that moves closer to what he wears in the comics. When the question comes up why he is using that horrid color scheme, the explanation is because he wants to be easily identifiable and have eyes on him, since his shtick is to confuse people with projections of himself.

That's what they will probably do, and change some of the cheesy names, Captain Cold is just dumb, just call him Cold, Capt. Boomerang... just forget about him, he's just lame. Is not going to be that easy to adapt some of these characters, so good luck to them. :word:
