Has the worst 5.1 surround sound track I've ever heard...the music being all that plays from the back speakers (with some very soft sound effects) is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Discuss :o

I have the same DVD, never thought of playing it in real sound, as in other then my TV's speakers. The audio track not being mixed properly is a real kick in the pants.

Maybe the DTS track is better, but these speakers dont support it so I have no idea...

Still, you put a 2-Disc Special Edition DVD out of one of the biggest movies of the 80s, the sound better be top-notch.

The audio mix is fine. Make sure your surround sound system is set to 5.1 and not some weird setting like Neo-Six cinema.

And BTW, DTS is ALWAYS better. The sound is totally uncompressed.

Mine is hooked up with DTS. Its fine.

One of my favorite parts is at the beginning where the 2 thugs are on the rooftop and you hear Keatons footsteps. That sound is awesome.lol

No clue. I ain't got speakers, plasma screens, and all that fancy stuff. Just a good ol' fashion 30inch

To have surround speakers at all, you have to have a surround audio system that your DVD player is plugged in to. You said you have back speakers. Therefore, you must have a sound system. And you can choose the type of audio that it plays. Usually down to stuff like Dolby Pro-Logic II, Dolby Digital 5.1, etc... so change the sound format on the system itself.

yes...I just got 5.1 speakers, and decided, hey, I should watch Batman with 5.1 sound, that would be awesome...it was a big let down :o

Try the Schumacher films instead...THOSE won't let you down...if anything those audio tracks in 5.1 cranked up will give you seizures that'll make you forget your being let down by the "B89" audio...as you bleed out your ears :woot:.

yeah, they're fine...I listened to NIN's Downward Spiral in 5.1 right before, and Spawn: TAS in 5.1 right after and both of them were fine.

Doesn't make sense. I guess just a difference of opinion. I found B89's mix to be appropriotely lavish, but then, don't forget that B89 is more subtle than most films. It's not about earth-shaking noise.

Except for when the Batmobile zooms into the Batcave with Vicki freaking out. That's the scene that is only complemented by booming sound for the music.

same here man, get dts people

What good does quality sound do you when the movie is terrible?

I'm getting tired of people taking me seriously ALL the time instead of MOST of the time.

So apparently I'M not allowed to be sarcastic once in awhile...I see...:csad:

I apologize. Sometimes sarcasm doesn't readily translate to message boards.

Oh it's fine, no worries :)

if you're being sarcastic, throw a rolling eyes smiley at the end, or put it in itallics...translates better that way

I'd think those and a big dopey smile at the end would've been enough...

thanks for the credentials, Joker.
