Since WB's reboot of Batman, I've always wondered how long this franchise can last.

Is it going to be your typical 3 movie then stop franchise, or will it be like the James Bond franchise where it goes on and on, but have different actors play the key roles. Personally, I would like to see JB franchise approach as long as the films stay fresh and visually appealing.

What would you like to see?

I'd rather them set out to do the definitive Batman story. And figure out how many movies they think they need to tell it, stick to that number and then finish it off. Personally I don't think 3 movies is enough. Five is probably best but then you might as well make it 6 and do two trilogies. Perhaps setting the second trilogy later in Batman's career.

I really don't want to see them go down the James Bond route making an endless stream of movies.

If WB goes Bond route of making lots movies then I will be happy if they don't do that then just make 3-5 movies.

Even if it's fresh?

It will never be Bond... BB was something we hadn't seen before... an origin... it was a hit... so they figured they might as well milk profits with a couple of sequels... we aren't gonna be seeing an origin movie every ten years though... it will continue to be sequels or a continuation of these characters... spinoffs, sequels, requels, etc... don't expect reboots or different takes on character origins every twenty years.

Once Nolan finishes his take on Batman they should give the Batman franchise like a 3-5 years break before they make more films if they indeed have plans to make more after Nolan´s take on the franchise

i say after the dark knight have two more batman movies and end the franchise and maybe do one more movie if not it should be ended with four nolan movies or nolan do 3 and someone else do one and then it should end

See how warmly the 3rd film is greeted, and then take it from there. But even if the 3rd film is hit with fans, a resting point is definately in order. I certainly wouldnt mind seeing the Batman films continue on and on ala James Bond films, but I certainly wouldnt want history repeating itself with another director taking over the reigns and having the franchise simply burn out like previously seen.

Well after the trilogy we could maybe get a reboot with David Fincher
