...every word that Pattinson says about his Batman is like listening to Radiohead, pure perfection.

See, I still kinda think Rob may on his own trip with the character a bit. This isn't consistent with what Reeves has said, which is that this is a criminological experiment and he's desperately trying to make a change but not having the effect he wants.

I think what he means is that Batman has lost hope that the city could change due to all his efforts falling.

I could be reading to much in to it though.

The Dark Knight Triolgys Gotham City is honestly underrated just because it didn't look as gothic others.

Nolan really made the people inhabitaning the city fleshed out people who are major parts of the films themselves.

I don't think he gets enough credit for that aspect.

The Nolan Gotham WAS damn good...in Begins. Between the Narrows, Arkham, grimey streets and such.

It looked like an entirely different city in the sequels. And it lost all character and distinction.

It wasn't gothic but still gorgeous. A full living city, like a real city, not a movie set. I agree that's underrated but I kinda understand, not stylized enough may bother some fans. Now, this issue is solved. :batty:

That second one would make an amazing poster!! Easily one of my favorite images yet.

Agreed. He was going for a Richard Donner esque vibe by having Gotham look like something we'd be familiar with.

Seriously! One of the coolest images for a Batman film I've ever seen. This really should have been one of the posters.

Is there an image without the font on it? Or a wallpaper version? That should be one of the official posters.

Begins Gotham was before Batman really started changing things.

I think that's what Nolan we going for by having it look more clean.

The rot was still there just forced to be more sublte in it's approach.

It used to bother me a bit but personally I've grown to enjoy this descion.

this is a better floating heads poster than the official one we got 2 days ago.

this looks like the cover of a mystery novel as well.
    good stuff.

I don't think the change was narrative related. Also, even if it was - it wasn't communicated effectively if so and plus, off-screen development kinda sucks.

The presence of Batman didn't make neighborhoods look less dirty.
His presence didn't change the architecture.
His presence didn't change the claustrophobic, slum-like streets.

Unless Batman bulldozed buildings and collected garbage and stopped the frequent rainfall in Gotham.

They even downgraded the look of Wayne Tower to something much less interesting.

Falcone and that League Of Shadows we're responsible for most of the architecture slume and overall cheap structures.

Falcone wanted to "prey on the fear and despertae to create new Joe Chils everyday"

And the League Of Shadows wanted to "destroy Gotham though economics"

They both wanted the citizens of Gotham to be afaird depressed and overwhelmed.

Batman took them down and took control of his wealthy company.

it makes sense to change all that clean everything up physoclilgy change the aptheic slow decline of this city had mentally plagued the people of Gotham for so long.

And with the new desire to clean up the city with Dent Gordon and the Judge inspired by Batman they would probably help with the effort.

At least that's how I see it.
