'The Batman' Lost Designs - Riddler & Spellbinder

Legions of Gotham has pulled some more un-used character designs out of our vault! This time the much rumored, but never seen Riddler design and early concepts for Spellbinder!

See, people? I told you the Marilyn Manson Riddler is way, way better than what we could have gotten.

And Spellbinder had a cool design. I wish they would have used alternate Spellbinder, along with alternate Killer Croc and alternate Penguin. I liked those designs better than the final ones.

Oh my dear goodness. As good as the show eventually was in Season 4 and the majority of Season 5, I will forever, forever hate the character designer on that show, his designs were awful and completely opposite to the character's personalities.

You're certainly welcome to your opinion, but I disagree completely. I don't think their hairstyle or clothing is reflective of their personalities. I think its kinda sad to even think that, lol.

And there were three character designers on the show.

Of course their look is reflective of their personalities, only a tiny minority of characters are not like that. Joker's normal comic appearance shows his clown style operandi mixed with his cunning evil, Riddler his stylishness, Penguin his sophistication. The looks for the former two characters were lacking in The Batman. Season 2 onwards Joker began acting far more like the clown prince of crime we're used too, yet his look was totally contrary to that. Riddler's Marylin Manson looks was never given reason too, his backstory pegged him as an intelligent and shy genius.

The papearance of characters tells you a lot about them, which a lot of The Batman designs really failed in, for me atleast.
