BvS The Batsuit Thread - - Part 15

Simko doesn't seem like the type of photographer WB or Snyder would hire to do their first official stills.

Looking at his portfolio he's very good, but he hasn't done a lot of movie work.

Now that the Flash suit has come out, my interest in how Batman's cowl turns out and the ability to turn his neck has returned.

They seem to have done an okay job of it - I assume the cowl can turn around a bit within the collar.

Whatever the case, his cowl's a lot closer to how I always imagined Batman's - in terms of how form-fitting and thinn(ish) is looks.

Not surprisingly given how similar their designs are anyway, but Gustin's suit looks very Daredevil-ish, it looks like that movie's costume with a full cowl and more fabric.

If I remember correctly, the Affleck Daredevil suit didn't have the collar attached. It seems that the DD suit may actually be brighter than the Flash suit, which I find funny. :woot:

The Flash suit seems closer to what they did with the Captain America Avengers suit in that the neck part comes from underneath his top half of his suit. While watching that film and looking at pics, I thought they were trying to give the impression that he could easily pull it back and let it hang like hood. But, someone pointed out that it seems he wear a hood part and then puts on his helmet. So, Flash looks similar to that except the helmet is connected to the neck part.

But, yeah. I agree it looks closer to what I imagined they could do with Batman on film.

Just posting pics for comparison...

My only gripe is that the actor playing Flash needs to get a tad bit beefier. That's pretty much it.

I like him slim. Flash is a runner. And all his feats of strength rely on his use of the speed force. I just want the suit to evolve and be eventually as form fitting as the Amazing Spider-Man 2 suit.

He's a runner but we're dealing with fantastical notions anyway. I like my superheroes with some definition. Spider-Man is one of the few that looks good either slim, toned, or buff.

Doesn't work with Flash for me at least even though it makes "sense" and would be more "realistic".

Exactly. Ive never saw Flash as a muscle guy. If anything, Gustins got the perfect build for someone who runs everywhere as he has decent legs to go with the slim.upper body.

Am I the only one who never noticed Batman could not turn his neck? I only saw the Michael Keaton Batman movies and the Nolan Batman movies. I didn't see the other 2, but I still never noticed the neck.

You never noticed how he had to turn his entire upper body, when he tried to face left or tight?

Plenty of people don't notice it. But, when you do, you can't unsee it because of how funny/awkward it can be. They have to turn their whole upper body if they want to see something beyond the direction their eyes can go.

As a kid that made Batman so unique to me. Just thought he did it to look cool/badass.

Not feeling the Flash costume, seems too homemade. I always saw Flash's suit as having some sort of nearly tangible energy to it, like it had an aura with it or something.

No, I never really noticed it. Maybe because I saw it as a kid and didn't pay much attention to it because he was turning his entire body. If I saw it today, maybe I'd think it was because he is just turning his hips, or with the quick shaky-cam that is being used in movies now, I don't think it would be noticeable if he could not turn his head.

Oh cool! I hadn't seen the suit in the light of day yet...this color is actually a lot better than the promo picture! The one thing is that Gustin looks even younger with the suit on IMO - not sure why, but he looks like a 15 year old...oh well. Other than that, I think it works pretty darn well! Good job WB- can't wait to see the show!

That's actually a manip. Here's the suit for real...

The cap suit really would have been perfect if it'd had the helmet from Cap 2 with the better mask sculpt and exposed ears - and maybe some crisscross armour tiling (like Thor's arms) on the upper torso.

That's not the actual suit, it's been brightened and modified.

The real one doesn't look so bad in daylight though.

I don't know whose idea that belt buckle was. It doesn't really seem to go with the rest of the suit. He doesn't really need a belt at all.

I'm sure someone will mash this new one up with the lightning trim from the 90s costume at some point.

I dnt hate it. Dnt love it either. It looks kinda loose. Needs to be more form fitting imo.

Either that dude has unusually wide hips or the suit is very unflattering.

That is a truly horrible suit. I've seen better cosplay. Who are they paying to make these travesties?

Maybe they made it to give him room to grow. He's a very thin guy. His legs don't have much meat on them and that is what makes his hips look wide.

I like the suit and I think it will look great in motion with it's show's filter added.

I really hope it keeps evolving. I don't care how many seasons it takes, but I hope this will eventually be the end result.

But I'm liking the costume so far, as a rough first prototype.
