Ok, I'm done bogging the boards down now. Gotta get some sleep and me there bright and early tomorrow morning.

Fingers crossed that we get something big!

I think the bodysuit itself looks almost exactly the same, other than the proportions of the model. The cowl is the biggest difference. The ears slop inwards, the nose is a bit different, and of course, the lenses.

Overall, I prefer the real version. Not a fan of the lenses in live-action, and I think the ears look better.

The final result is obviously very similar, but in the smaller pics, there is a definite difference in the bodysuit in that you can see plates of armour showing through, which I kind of like (it's not on the bigger pics). And also the seam pattern is a bit different. I'd like to see a bigger version of the one with the plates.

It actually looked like leather to me, lol. I'm 100% sure it's leather or something synthetic that looks the same. The armored suit's cape was a super heavy cloth, almost like canvas.

It's fabric covered with rubber, just like the Keaton ones, though probably not as heavy.

Wow. You were really busy in here last night, SG. Thanks for all the great shots!

Thank you! It's nearly impossible to get good shots with the crowd and the glare on the glass. I'm going to take more tomorrow of his gloves, because I think he had mirrors on them.

great pics !

If you have a pair of polarized sunglasses, hold the lens in front of the camera, may help cut the glare... unless you are using an SLR which can accept a polarized lens adapter...

The concept art is cool and all, and considering the freedom that art form provides over real life materials it is kinda usual for concept art to come up as better looking....but I gotta say, at least for me, this is a rare instance were I actually prefer everything on the actual Bat suit over that of that of the concept art.

For example the cowl, to me it ended up way better in the final product, same with the main suit texture, more subversive (less obvious) armor plates, no white contacts (I don't like the look irl) etc.

Also, I love how since the beginning (by looking at the concept art), they really commited to gray and black look; Before Snyder came into the picture, I always supposed that if a director dared to go into the gray suit territory for live action, that somehow he would chickens*** of actual gray and go for a very dark-ish looking gray..you know, for "realism". I am glad to see that Wilkinson and Snyder pulled out all the stops and went with true gray!

These thoughts are exactly how I feel. I love the concept art but the finished product is a masterpiece and a near perfect balance between fashion and function, utilitarian and theatrical, practical yet intimidating. I honestly never thought I'd live to see a comic faithful black and gray suit on screen. It's glorious.

:yay: and another one!

I love the attention to detail on all the suits.

Interesting to see the musculature of the suit in the concept has armor like padding instead of sculpted muscles like the finished product has.

I might've preferred that to be honest but the actual costume still looks great.

I'm not sure which i would've preferred if I'd seen live action models of both, but the thing i like most about the finished product is the texture in combination with the sculpt because it gives off a creature-esque job.

I definitely prefer the bodysuit and sculpt we got over that concept art. More beastial.
