That WAS pretty freakin awesome. 4 minutes and no cuts takes a LOT of intricate orchestration.
Though in my mind, there is a reason Jackie Chan is...well, Jackie Chan. To me, the greatest martial arts movie will always be Drunken Master 2. The fight scenes were so funny and INTENSE, particularly the last one. You're laughing out load at one point and the next you'll be saying "ouch!".
This'll teach ya to let a master of Drunken Kung Fu take a shot of industrial alcohol. Pardon the lousy dubbing.
However, for my money, best one on one fight scene ever layed to film, was about 10 years before, in one of Jackie's earlier flms called Wheels on Meals. It's Jackie versus Benny the Jet Urquidez...no wire rigs or special effects...just great, well timed choregraphy from 2 pros. And it looks like these guys did NOT hold back. Jackie is certfiabley nuts, and Benny is a former professional kick-boxer that doesn't like to hold back. Just watch this scene and I'm sure you will see some hits actually conect.
