George Lucas and the Star Wars films

JRR Tolkien/Peter Jackson and the Lord of The Rings films

JK Rowling/Alfonso Cuaron and the Harry Potter films

James Cameron and the Terminator films

The question is which of these 4 franchises did/do you enjoy the most? Which were the best? Which were the most epic? Which will you still first advise to your grandkids when they want to know about a great old set of films and their story?

Umm...Why do you have Alfonso Cuaron next to JK Rowling?
He only directed one film.

The answer is Star Wars, of course.

I knew someone would ask!

I wanted a director next to her name and he is by far the best of the 3.

What Indiana Jones, Batman or X-Men not big enough for you. I picked Rings.

LOTR is brilliance, but it bends over to star wars

And Cuaron is easily the best HP director

I love Star Wars, but the Lord of the Ring's trilogy was better in my opinion.

LOTR

OH!
:up::up:
Newell was great too.
I think HP would be second, followed by Indiana Jones and Back to the Future.

Since I could'nt vote for "The Land Before Time" I voted Terminator.

Star Wars films - I only like the original trilogy (Star Wars, Empire, and Jedi)

The Lord of The Rings - I enjoyed them immensly

The Harry Potter films - I have no interest in them at all. I'm too old for kiddie books and movies

The Terminator films - I've only seen the first 2, and have no interest in seeing the third.

I'd also include the Dollars trilogy, the Die Hard Trilogy, and of course the Godfather trilogy.

And once I get a chance to see Once Upon a Time... The Revolution (aka A Fistful of Dynamite), I'd add Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time Trilogy

Skip the First two Harry Potter films, they're Christopher Columbus trash.
The 3rd and 4th is where it's at. They're hardly little kids films.

Star Wars - I have no desire whatsoever to see them.
the Lord of The Rings - Well made but extremely overrated
Harry Potter - I couldn't care less about those movies
Terminator - I couldn't care less about those movies

I do like The Dollars trilogy, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future and The Godfather Part 1 and 2.

LOTR all the way! I love all the other films on that poll, but LOTR tops them.

My top 3.

1) Terminator 1 and 2
3) Godfather 1 and 2
3) Indiana Jones 1-3

honorable mentions: Star Wars OT, Superman 1 and 2

Well, you can't just skip the first 2 movies of a septology. Either the guy has to read the first 2 books or see the movies.

And how come no horror film franchises (Friday the 13th, Halloween, and A Nightmare on Elm Street) or any other big movie franchises? Star Trek and the James Bond films are some of the biggest movie franchises of all time, and this poll doesn't even have a "other" option. :whatever:

The only "horror franchise" worth seeing is George Romero's dead trilogy.

I'm content with watching the first Friday the 13th, the first Halloween, and the first Nightmare on Elm Street

I don't think anyone should foolishly jump on the Harry Potter 1 and 2 Hate-wagon with the bone-brains who hate them only in hindsight.

Truth is that HP 3 and 4 are a Product of Hp 1 and 2. If those weren't what they were, WB'd have never had the incentive to try to change the formula to something different. Just imagine it. this is the idiot studio called Warner bros that destroyed batman and superman after starting them off nicely... they could have decided to not be in any way faithful to the book, but they didn't. And as many around here will attest, the best dumbledore portrayal was by the late Richard Harris. So it'll take a hell of a argument to convince me not to be appreciative of the first two potters.

Because they are above average films no matter what the internet wants to say about them nowadays.

For me, it's definitely PJ and the LOTR films. He really brought a masterful blend of talent, emotion, and conveyed a great story to film that was already great in literature. This is not something that is easily done, and he did a fine job with class, grace, and dignity.

Of those, Lord of The Rings. But you left out Indiana Jones, and Back To The Future.

Mmmmmmmmm,

I think its got to be LOTR ... There is a very high level of consistant quality through all three and the acting is near flawless.

Star Wars has been hurt by the prequels .... badly.

back to the future is the best set of films because its the continuation of the same story

it's one mad long adventure
