I didn't know that Family Matters was a spin-off. I just looked that up on wikipedia.
Yeah, wasn't Harriet a character on Perfect Strangers first?
She was the elevator operator at the newspaper Larry worked at.Yeah, wasn't Harriet a character on Perfect Strangers first?

Huh. I've never seen The Tracy Ullman Show.
t:I beg to differ. A Different World was a great show, though.Different world is superior to the cosby show
That's what it said. I'll have to go and see if their is anything on YouTube
Alright, I watched the intro to Perfect Strangers and I remember the show a little. Didn't know that it's spin-off was Family Matters.
You'd be surprised what they can make a spin-off from. Good Times is a spin-off of Maude (Florida Evans was Maude's maid).Harriet originally worked at that Chicago news paper place
with Balky & Larry but that wasn't until a few seasons into the series. I never would have thought that they would create a whole new series around her character though. Family Matters could have stood on its own without it ever being known that it was a spin-off series.
Interesting note. Maude was a spin-off of All in the Family (Maude was Edith Bunker's cousin). That officially makes Good Times a spin-off of a spin-off.

how about King of Queens? Doug was a character on Everyone Loves Raymond first
See, I had no idea that Just the Ten of Us was a spin-off of Growing Pains, even though I liked both shows growing up. What's the connection there?
Yep. The Jeffersons were the Bunkers' neighbors until they moved on up to a deluxe apartment in the sky.Wasn't the Jeffersons also technically spun off from ALL in the Family?
