Neither was really that long, but when it happened it pretty much got every fan excited. So the question, which was the better cameo; Nick Fury in Iron Man or Tony Stark in The Incredible Hulk?

Nick Fury. Hearing the word Avengers and refering to Stark as part of a bigger universe was just such an awesome cameo.

my opinion here is they're both good in different ways.

nick fury in ironman was awesome, cos it set up the rules and how the new marvel universe will encompass other superheroes.

but tony stark in TIH is the actual execution of the said rule. Showing the star of Ironman in a Hulk movie.

they're both awesome.
i'm not gonna vote :))

Robert Downey, Jr. was probably the best part of The Incredible Hulk. But Sam Jackson.

Both were great. That said, I have to say that seeing Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury was probably a bigger moment for me though. Although the RDJ moment was pretty awesome, too!

First time was freakier and more surprising (even though I knew about it) and hearing the words "Only superhero? You're part of a bigger universe now" and Avengers initiative had me grinning, as did seeing Jackson as Nick Fury.

It was cool in TIH, but the newness wasn't quite as fresh. Plus it should have been at the end of the credits, because Iron Man being the subject and last shot of a Hulk movie didn't seem quite right.

Hearing the word Avengers

Avengers initiative

The first time I heard it I heard "Avenger Initiative." Later once some people on SHH had started seeing the movie and posting they kept adding an "s." I re-checked and the word was definitely not plural, yet people here persist in typing it as one. They hear what they want to hear I suppose. :csad:

You're right, it was singular in the movie, and stop being the grammar police :cmad:

More people seemed to go crazy over seeing Tony Stark's cameo than Nick Fury. Cause alot of people didn't know who the hell NF was. Tony Stark's cameo seemed more layed back and it made more sense it didn't feel forced like NF's did...

I'd say for the films IM"s felt less forced as it was after the movie was over and the narrative is done. Stark has revealed himself to the world and some highly powerful government people are interested in the first public superhero of the movie MU.

Stark's appearance in TIH was obviously filmed as an after-the-credit nod (as Downey said as much himself), because the last shot to the movie's story really was Bruce first getting a taste of controlling his Hulk powers and that knowing smirk on his face. Then to fade out and abruptly cut to a scene that has nothing to do with the movie but a set-up to a spin-off (The Avengers franchise), felt less natural.

But, I completely agree. To fans, seeing Nick Fury in a movie for the first time and mentioning the word "Avenger" was incredibly awesome. But to the average moviegoer who doesn't know who Nick Fury or what the Avengers are they're going to go "huh?" But a mainstream audience who just saw how awesome Iron Man was a month ago, will go ga-ga when the franchise-making star shows up hinting at bigger things to come.

I'm thinking RDJ's cameo was put before the credits so more people would see it, instead of half the audience walking out before the credits were over.

Tony Stark, I knew was going to be there, so it built up my expectations, which is never a good thing.

I vote for Nick Fury, because I wasn't expecting his appearance, but when he showed up I was very excited. Him being there also made me feel special about being a fan of comic movies.

Tony Stark appearing at the end of the Incredible Hulk had me geeking out way way more. I literally could have screamed, haha.
