The Big Sleep (1946)

I watched this the other night...AWESOME!! It was confusing as all hell but man,The acting and the screenplay are unbelieveable!! I liked it more than Chinatown,It certainly is one of the best detective stories ever,if not the best.

One of my favourite things about it is how damn CLEVER it is. In one scene, Marlowe is fighting a man while holding a gun. He tosses down the gun, and when the guy goes for it, he kicks him in the face. Classic scene.

I haven't watched it in its entirety, but from what I scene, it's a ****ing awesome movie. Bogart's The Man.

You have to watch it to the end..it's awesome
I noticed every chick in the movie wants to go out with Bogart's charater..even the cab driver who is hot.

Cab driver hands him a business card "Hey if you ever need me give me a call"
"day or night?"
"Night,I work during the day"

lol such great wit in this movie,and the murders just keep piling up.

I prefer Bogart's character in The Maltese Falcon, but I think I like The Big Sleep as a whole film better. It really is a great movie. I love Bogart, particularly in Maltese, Big Sleep, Beat the Devil, and Key Largo.

Not a fan of the Key Largo on the whole I found it boring but I did like the mobster character and the last 20 minutes.

I've watched it a few times and liked it, but I'll admit that it's listed fourth out of those for a reason.
