That's quite a cast. They already had me at Hardy and Comer but the list just keeps going.

That's ridiculous that they think this movie can't sell.

Goddamn, that's so far. I think this looks fantastic.

While I get that this wasn't supposed to be some box office juggernaut, they've really gotta let these movies breathe in theaters. As it is, this will probably be on Peacock before Labor Day.

Despite that, I might still venture out to see this in theaters anyway next week. Otherwise the only two theater trips I'll have left this summer will be for Deadpool & Wolverine and Alien Romulus.

That was fast. But I still dug this film, with Tom Hardy and Jodie Comer as the standouts, and Norman Reedus was highly entertaining! Unless it's an indie film, I'm not sure if there'll be a lot of July films I'll see, especially with the summer Olympics starting at the end of the month.

I saw this opening weekend and thought it was pretty solid. Nothing groundbreaking, but the cast was excellent (as you would expect). What kept it from being exceptional was that it straddles a middle ground between documentary and narrative drama that the film never truly reconciles. It's admirable that Nichols wants to stick to the facts as much as possible, but when half of the film is just Jodie Comer monologuing it makes interesting drama difficult.

Totally agree. I checked this out on Peacock last night and thought it was okay. From a story perspective, I was expecting a little better but the cast was great, especially Hardy, Shannon and Comer, though Comer's accent started to drive me up a wall after a while.

I still have to watch it but I can’t believe anyone’s accent in this could be more distracting than that Marlon-Brando-voicing-Elmer-Fudd accent that Hardy is attempting. :funny:

His accent was technically worse than Comer's but since he wasn't the narrator of the movie I didn't find it as distracting. Also with Hardy weird accents are just expected at this point.

Butler was probably the one with the least distracting accent in this, which makes it the polar opposite of Dune 2. :o

Hahaha yeah I liked him in Dune 2 but having him do a Stellan Skarsgard impression the whole time was distracting as hell. :funny:

It was something that threw me off completely the first time I saw it but grew to appreciate more on repeat viewings, much like Hardy's Bane voice.
