I've been thinking about it and... what are the chances that Gunn directly takes over this film, and writes it and directs it himself?
It sounds ridiculous but:

1. Batman is his favorite comic character and it seems it's been that way for decades. Even as far back as 2006 he listed him in a list of "random things he loves" and saying the character was his favorite one as a kid. So he clearly has a deep connection with the character.

2. The Adam West Batman was the entire reason he got into superheroes as a kid.

3. He has some strong as hell opinions on previous Batman films that also signal there's probably some version of live-action Batman he badly wants to see that hasn't been done yet.
4. He straight up said he might have directed Batman instead of TSS if Matt Reeves hadn't been doing The Batman.

5. He loves, loves Cassandra Cain and
said he might've wanted to do a movie about her too. She can easily fit into this movie.

6. He also loves Harley Quinn and wants to work with Margot again. There's probably some way to incorporate her into this movie.
At first I was thinking the scheduling would be a problem but...
-He started writing Superman in the middle of Guardians post production so he could do the same here and write Batman in the middle of Superman post.
-So that means he could start writing Batman in late 2024-early 2025.
-Have it ready for pre-production as soon as Superman releases like he did with Guardians and Superman.
-Then shoot it 8 months after Superman releases, so March 2026
-Release it in late 2027 or early 2028.
So... maybe?
