He may be a chameleon writer but it's more about why would Gunn go out of his way to hire this specific person. If he wanted a super comedic or kid friendly take there are probably about a hundred different other writers he could've taken that come ingrained with that sensibility.A bit, yeah, but Logan is by his own admission a chameleon writer who morphs to suit the assignment. My assumption is he's on this because he's worked on Bond and my suspicion is that a more mainstream, accessible take on the Morrison material is gonna be heavily Bondian - which is a bit unfortunate because the TDK Trilogy were almost entirely Batman through the lens of Bond in an incredibly effective way so I find that sort of regressive creatively.
I do agree he probably grabbed him because of his James Bond work. I mean, Morrison's approach to Batman was already extremely Bondian to the extent he put a joke about it on his comic:

That being said I actually think it's a smart decision. After 20 years of having the audience used to purely street-level Batman takes I think it's smart to model the introduction to this more fantastical version of the character on things that the audience are already familiar with. People tend to forget that for as grounded as the Nolan trilogy was, the other half of it was the ridiculously James Bond-ian sequences and plots that while most prevalent in TDKR were also definitely a part of TDK, so to introduce this version of Batman with a screenwriter that worked on the most succesful Bond movie that was heavily inspired by TDK I feel will make the selling of this Batman much, much easier. Ideally this movie would feel very tonally akin to recent Bond or Mission Impossible films.
... Which actually kinda makes me wonder if they may grab Sam Mendes as director for this lmao If there is one director that could get sold on it with John Logan's participation alone it'd probably be him since they are close friends.
