Just won't be the same without Denis Lawson in the cockpit of an X-Wing.C'mon JJ,give him his usual 3 minutes of glory in this film!:argh:

I'd definitely like to see him return for at least a cameo or just the usual 5-10 minutes leading Rogue Squadron.

It really depends because Lawson's been very fickle on the matter:

Last year, he said this in an interview:
Just a brief update to our earlier story regarding the potential status of Denis Lawson and Episode VII from a conversation our good friend Gary Mancini had with Lawson last year.

"We spoke to him when he was doing a signing last year and he said he wasn't interested in just a cameo, but if there was a fully rounded and expanded role for him in the film, he would consider it, script and price pending."

Then most recently, Dennis said this:

“Honestly, I made the first Star Wars film in 1976 and it doesn’t really interest me. I know it’s interesting to other people but I get really bored talking about it. Sorry.”

Ehh,he'll change his tune when the mouse waves some green under his nose.:o

I don't think he needs a fully rounded role in the film. 3 minutes of screen time tops. I'm not really worried about seeing Wedge return anyways.

Yes. I think he was in the Battle of Hoth in Empire and he was in the final battle against the Death Star in ROTJ. He also made an appearance during the celebration on Endor.

I'd love to have Wedge return, and to see Rogue Squadron kick some ass! But the actor is 66. It seems like Wedge would be retired to a nice lake house on Naboo or something by that age. I suppose that he would come out of retirement if a threat arose and the New Republic needed him, but I can't see Abrams giving him a significant role in the plot.

Frankly, Lawson should be grateful if he is offered a role at all. His career hasn't exactly been a smash hit since ROTJ.

I've been reading the Thrawn Trilogy for the first time, and it's making me realize what could have been if Lucas had went ahead and made 7-9 in the 80s instead of waiting all this time and wasting so much potential. Now the trio and characters like Wedge are well past their prime and we've missed out on what could have been some great adventures with them.

I do think Dennis' attitude towards SW could be just a generational thing for working actors back in the 70's and early 80's.

Now, when even an actress like Elizabeth Olsen would do a Marvel movie, times are different thanks to the internet, and Hollywood's obsession on 'branding'.

I love Wedge. I wish he would be back too. But keeping him unique to the OT would also be cool.
