Has anyone ever heard of The Brothers Hildebrandt? They are artists who did some work for marvel at one time (among many many other things). I am designing and creating a webpage for them which I will mail to them in a cd. I am hoping that they might replace their old website with mine.

Anyway, im just wondering if anyone knows of them or knows anything interesting about them that I should add to the site.

For those of you who have never heard of them maybe you would like to see some of their work, here is a preview,

To see more visit their site (the old yucky one :oldrazz:) at http://www.brothershildebrandt.com/

um I went to the Joe Kubert school Greg was one of my teachers,
Tim passed away in June of Diebetes. Greg still has a site where MANY artists sell thier art as well as Greg selling his.
I was really heart broke when Greg e-mailed me that Tim had passed, because Greg would talk about Tim alot.
Here's the art site

here's Tim's memorial page,

If you DIDN'T know Greg and Tim did do MANY Lord of the Rings paintings and 3 Calendars, I think Greg has those for sale on his site.

I used to collect the Marvel Masterworks cards when I was younger, which were all drawn by the Hilderbrandts...

I think they are good. Certainly they understand colour and shading and composition very very well. I but can't help but find their work now seems a little stiff and posed. Also, on the Masterworks card set, it's clear Scarlet Witch and Black Widow have the EXACT SAME FACE, because the same model was used.

It's good stuff, but all too often it's characters floating in mid-air posing.

Maybe if I had never seen Alex Ross, I don't know. :)

BTW -- have the brothers ever done a sequential art piece, like an actual comic?

Tim did some books I do recall, but they were story books, and the only thing Greg has done are the cards. I don't think they ever did any comics tho.
The only thing sequential they done are Calenders lol (months)

I used to collect the card series they did also. I actually quite like their work.:word:
