have you no heart...the whole movie is about a girl, that girl, the girl next door, Mary Jane Watson...

whoa, i lose myself in it sometimes :D

Nope.

The truth is that as I have probably said before I don't have a romantic bone in my body. This is not a joke, I am being deadly serious. Romance and relationships just sicken me and I have no desire to see them in movies. So much so that whenever I watch either of the Spidey movies I fast forward it when Pete and MJ are in the same room together simply so I don't have to watch the vomit inducing romantic rubbish

you really are crazy, aren't you!?!?!?!

well, i have a feeling that the love story in this movie will be darker, due to the symbiote on peter.

Makes no difference. Me + Romance = Total Revulsion

The idea of introducing Gwen as a new potential love interest for Peter to me is not just boring it is vile.

But again, the question is, to what extent are they taking this "new love interest" thing?

We all know that MJ is Petes true love but Kirsten is leaving the show after SM3. Perhaps they are just going to set up a mutal interest between the two characters that may develop into something further but not too much yet just in case Kirsten decides to come back to the franchise

so what if she's kind of an anti mj

mj: loves spidey, loves pete (although it took her time to see that)
gwenn: loves pete, hates spidey

Sean Adisano said:
but if she finds out who pete really is, it can really destroy her emotionally. even if he explains everything to her, she can still end up all messed up.

Her hating Spidey is essential if they are going to kill her father.

ok Chris i'll bring my discussion over to the rightful place :)

what was said in another thread is that gwen is the anti m.j

m.j-loves spider-man, loves peter

gwen-hates spider-man, loves peter

and i was saying that it can't be that gwen loves peter and hates spider-man. if she hates spider-man for killing her father, thats a big hatred, as we see with harry.

if she finds out that peter, who she loves, is actually spider-man, the man responsible for her fathers death, even if peter explains everything, it will emotionally destroy her and leave her messed up.

just what i think, but it can't be that she loves one half of the man and not the other.

hmmm, your one step ahead of me :)

yes it is essential, but i'm just saying that "IF" they fall for each other, its a completely different situation with them then it was with peter and m.j
he'll probably have to hide his secret from her, which is hard and never works with all the lies and secrets kept.

Any ideas on how they may blame SPidey for Cpt Stacy's death... I mean why would she hate Spidey that much just b/c Spidey is trying to kill Sandman but Cpt. stacy is accidentaly killed in the battle trying to save someone... it doesn't make sense

They can't fall for each, but she can fall for him. But I seriously doubt that Peter is just gonna up and decide to fall in love with another woman. That would be a bigger crime in SM3 than the oh so dreadful 98 lb Venom.

Just do it like they did in the comics, switching Doc Ock for Sandman. Obviously the exact scenario would be different, but you get the drift.

Oh and by the way, we might as well start the Sandman/HarryGG2 threads and get this forum similar to the Xmen forum format

well, spidey is still a wanted man, and it could happen that gwen never really had an opinion on spidey.

but during their battle, spidey and sandman, it could be the police are there trying to capture both spidey and sandman, and a number of things can happen:

sandman may try to get away and spidey try's to stop him but throwing something at him and it goes right through him and lands on capt. stacy, or maybe hits the side of a building and the rubble then falls on capt. stacy.

or maybe sandman throws spidey into a building and the rubble falls and kills capt. stacy.

i don't know, just throwing out idea's here, but the main point is that if both spidey and sandman are in battle together and are both wanted, and capt. stacy's death is a result of their battle, Gwen will hate both of them, and blame both of them.

just what i think...

oh i'm with you...

i was only giving my opinion on the discussin that was started over there in the other thread. just a "what if", but i am with you, they shouldn't end up together, it should be her interested in him.

Well, I ain't gonna do it. I'm gonna be working on all the Bryce updates/pics on this thread.

Here's an interview Bryce did with the Suicide Girls back in January. It seems like it was done before her being cast for SM3 and she mentions the Spidey films:

Q: What directors do you want to work with?

A: I would love to work with directors that take a genre and stylistically changing them. I love what Sam Raimi is doing with the Spider-Man franchise. I think that’s fascinating. I love Sofia Coppola and how she's found her own voice. I love being a part of a filmmaker’s vision.

Bumping back up, cause supposedly SOME PEOPLE didn't know Gwen was in this film. ;)

If they are going to introduce the character now, they are most certainly not going to kill her. You would need to establish her for one film to make her death significant in the film-verse. This, coupled with the Hollywood Reporter's story, makes it clear that Gwen will survive.

Not necessarilly. There are signifigant deaths in movies all the time that never even get a sequel. Wasn't Uncle Ben's death signifigant in the first movie? My best friend's mother who has never read a single comic book in her life, cried when she saw that.

There are two ways to make a death signifigant. You can make the audience attached to the person who dies, or you can make them attatched to somebody who will mourn them. Uncle Ben's death was sad because of our ability to relate to Peter. We felt Peter's pain, not becuase we felt bad for Uncle Ben, but because we felt bad for Peter. The audience as actually mourning for Peter more than they were mourning for Uncle Ben. It was emotion delivered brillaintly. Us comic fans knew it was coming, but it still had emotional impact. Anybody that complains about the directional style of the last two movies only needs to go back and watch that scene.

^^ i'm going to agree with spider-bite, they can make her death significant in this movie. all they have to do is make her death painful to someone else, that way we can see and feel their pain. as to whom we feel for i'm not sure.

I hope that mary jane and gwen can co-exist in further films, so no one is going to be killed...
